Evening Donkers.
I hope your weekends were excellent I had a good day today, a customer in the shop turned out to be a member of the Lambretta scooter club of Hong Kong, which was very cool. 8) I seem to be listening to more and more Mumford and Sons for some reason. Bill, i have no idea what you are on about 0.5 of the time. But it all makes me smile. Marc |

Yes I'm thinking about trying some Mumford and Sons.
I'm guessing they are Irish. I'm still thinking about buying AlphaBeats 1st CD. Me and Dave Mattews are still getting re-aqainted with the Big Whiskey and the Groo Cruz King Album which I have to say is pretty bloody amazing. Shame that no one else has heard of them. They made more than 500 million bucks through touring alone. Nice. Bill X |

I don't know if they are Irish, i know they come from West London. But that is not narrowing the field really. I bet Wonder knows.
I am off to download some Dave Mathews. I may never return. |

Advice pls. I dropped by to look at a second-hand scoot at a dealer's this morning, and asked if they could start it up for me. They said they weren't allowed to keep petrol in any of their bikes because of the insurance, as they're under a railway arch, and if I rang them in advance they'd arrange to have it fuelled so I could run the engine.
Fishy? I've never heard this one before - do e.g. Metropolis say the same? (Also the guy who knew about this particular scooter was off sick today, yadda yadda...should I run awaaaay?) |

I might believe them about the terms of their insurance.
But on the other hand, there's nothing in what they said to stop them from going to a petrol station, filling a jerry can, taking the scooter outside and giving it a dab of petrol to start it. I think it smells a bit. |

Ok, I amnot a UK insurance expert but if you can't have petrol in scoots and scoots need petrol, why would the local government let a scooter shop open up under those requirements? Do they need to add petrol to a scoot to test ride it, then take the bike off premises to drain the bike, transport the scoot back to the shop and do it all over again for the next test ride ? Not exactly easy to remove 100% of the fuel and don't carbs get dry and gummy if they sit empty?

How would any of thier customers ride thier scooters home then or even to the shop to have it serviced ?
They don't keep fuel on site and they sell things with internal combustion engines in them ? I think someone was bullshitting you. Walk away. Couldn't they just push it out of the shop ? Bill X |

I can understand not being permitted to store petrol on the premises in cans or other containers.
But not having any in the bike is just weird, especially since anyone wanting to buy it would want the engine started. Walk, don't run, to the nearest exit. |

Sorry, we don't have any fairy farts to get it running for you. |

What have I missed. Sorry for a long absence!
My Vespa gets de-dented today hopefully, just waiting for the dent guy to arrive and work his magic. Spent a whole day derusting the exhaust a week ago - couldn't believe what a mess it was in after only two months of use! Had a first service as well and running like a top. Hope you had a good time on the slopes Genie and glad that little Orky is looking perky. Hugz |

Fulham! Well, that explains it
Actually, when I lived in London as a transient student (Donk credential alert!), I was in Cranley Gardens hard on the Fulham Rd. and as often as not we would head down that way for the odd pint and/or football game. Good times... |

DOUG HUGS!!
Fulham seemed quite swish to me (at least the Wandsworth Bridge side), but then I spent several years living in Catford so it's all relative. |

So Doug how did the dent removal thing go ?
Details please. Well the Italian restaurant that I wanted to use as our Lunch with the Stars venue on April the 4th opens at 530pm on Sundays from April through to September so I'm going to check out another one this weekend. It may well be in the Haymarket. Bill XX |

Nice one Kam: I'm always impressed at folk's Lenty ambitions. I don't go in for it myself but I can't help admire the determination folk get possessed by.

No, get some of those Nicorette Patches and stick them over your eyes and you can't find your fags.

I've got a few rolls of gaffer tape I'd be willing to provide to any inent quitters at a much more competitive rate than nicorette. As long as I get to stick it on. And choose the colour. Now that's an offer it must be terribly difficult to turn down.
