And Doug I love you for that remark.

Now I'm a little worried because I was flicking through the channels looking for something good to watch and I swear I saw on Quest "The Ultimate Fisting Programme" but on closer inspection it was The Ultimate Fishing Programme.

Now is my eyesight going or am I so warped I actually believed there was an Ultimate Fisting Programme and if there actually was would I watch it.

glad you like the bitubo and the pm, doug. that's exactly the combination (along with the shorty vespa flyscreen) I used to have on my gts.

had the db killer been available then i would have kept the pm because it is just so tasty.

the colour of your gts is truly beautiful. i nearly bought a gtv 3 years ago just to get that colour. i suppose i could always repaint.

When looking for a Ford Ka look for all the usual things - Full Service History, not too many owners, rust around the lower sills on the early models, check how high the clutch bites - the higher it is the more worn it is, look for leaks around the head gasket and rust in the coolant, wear to the inside of the tyres, play in the steering, blue smoke from the pipe when it starts from cold plus any squeels from the belts, play in the gear lever linkages, wear to the steering wheel, pedals and seat if the mileage is too low for it's age and always check the chassis no against the V5 document.
Oh and when the clutch is depressed listen for another squeel - that's the thrust bearing. Also check for grinding when you put it in reverse. Check for knocking in the UJ's when turning lock to lock under power.
The overhead valve engines on the MK1 Ka's last forever with regular servicing but I wouldn't go for one over 100,000 miles.

Anything else just ask.

And just for you another one in the five minutes of sun we got at 4.30.... It looks blue-ish purple in some lights and coppery in others. I had to get rid of the sand saddle and replace it with a vinyl copy of the Vespa leather one. I am VERY pleased with the modifications so far. All seem worthwhile (if pricey, especially that PM) improvements.

My w/e camping and getting very pissed in Lechlade is looking less inviting as the weather forecasts come in. But they are always, always, extra gloomy. I know I'm good for -8C when it's dry, but +4C when it's sheeting down with rain does not fill me with desire.

So I might make it to Lechlade, or I might make it to Bella Italia, or I might just keep head under duvet. Toss of a three-sided coin.

Whatsa "donk"?

Hot yoga...... I tried it when I was recovering from rotator cuff surgery.
OH.... MY.....GOD....!

45 minutes in 94* and hu, hum, HUMIDITY!
Imagine if you will (maybe don't....) an old overweight white guy with umbilacal hernia, sweating sheets of salt water/beer/wine/garlic,
among a bunch of younger housewives & 'ladies'.....
maybe two other dudes, slim and fit,
while I was better able to balance than the rest of the room (my Judo exp' from yeeears ago?),
and anxiously awaiting the end of the HOT room torture. I soooo wanted to run out and (try to) take a deep breath.

I couldn't go back. It took me two days to rehydrate, and the headache lasted one full day. I would love to learn Yoga in room temps, NOT the detox'ing hot & humid of HOT Yoga.
I'll sell my mat, carrying case, and SS water bottle to somebody.......
OHMYGOD!!!

(hey, was I donking yet?)

actually, kudos to you for trying it. apparently it's like marmite - you either love it or you hate it. i've got very low body fat and am cold pretty much constantly for about 7 months of the year (i'm in the wrong damn country, i know ) so i absolutely love being in a 100F room - and our class is 90 minutes i sweat buckets, but i read somewhere that the secret is to drink a lot of water before you begin.

Forgive me but this is work related.

March has gone and I'm glad but relieved to see the back of it.

Sinse the first of this month I've been flat out dealing with the logistics of getting rid of 95 new cars and 40 used cars from our dealership which is a record for us.

I've been flat each day and every day for what seems like forever and I think I may have been a little bit rude to a few people in the process which I feel bad about.

But hey we are selling cars and that's a good thing but bloody hell I am utterly knackered.

Only 6 months to wait and it will happen all over again.

Yay.

What a nice afternoon. Wonder Machine and I swapped scoots for a while and did a little tour of East Dulwich. I had forgotten what a nice scooter the 300 is. All that lovely low-down torque. We both seemed to enjoy each other's rides.

Genie and I were fairly lucky with the weather with only one peculiar moment where they closed the Blackwall Tunnel Southbound for no apparent reason and we got a bit wet in a sudden downpour. The barriers opened about ten minutes later and we arrived on the other side of the Thames to be met with no rain and dry roads!

Bit of a daft day to commute anywhere in London as the roads were full of people going on holiday! We made it safe and sound though!

Grand day out
Yes Doug's 250 is very smooth... rather like the owner! The shock makes a big difference and I am a convert. The new PM 68 is much less lairy than before and the db killer makes a difference. It's a nice combination but I demanded that they made as much noise as possible when they left. I am, as Mr Wonder said, a child. But even he liked the revvy noise of the PM and had a go.

Very springtime. genie's given me a load of plants for the garden which will go in tomorrow, and Doug turned into the Easter Bunny and brought round some of those nice creme de cassis eggs. Mmm.

We also had some great strudel from genie and some good hot cross buns from the baker. Then it pissed down, proper bank holiday fashion!

Thanks to Alice for the tip off on the Cassis eggs. Lidl in Ilford didn't have them. Hackney did, and they obviously don't like liquer choccies in 'Acne as they were reduced. Normal creme (sic, literally Bleh emoticon ), normal price, alco-chocs 30p off.... Suits me sir.

Unfortunately we all had a discussion about faster bikes this afternoon and DAS tests and the like. I got all hot and bothered by Jess's V4 head and cylinder but won't do it 'til out of warranty. (I really will do it!) Genie suggested I should kit the ET4 as a test run, so guess wot I gone an' done? Yep... Malossi 190cc kit from PM. Oops. Can't take it with me I suppose but I need new windows.

Now Mr Wonderful can come and hold my tools and Genie can point and shoot. Bill you can watch. You swingers up for that?

Bindi looks like she is trying to control your mind which of course she is.
Both of them have the softest fur and a cuteness factor of 10.
Alita has a lovely white chin which you just want to stroke endlessly.

Well it's Bank Holiday Friday and I have woken up with nothing to do.

How nice is that.

Edit - The lug on the inside of the mudguard is now firmly glued in place which makes me very happy but now it's raining again which doesn't.

Just Crazy
My Bank Holiday Friday just gets more crazy.

Now I'm de-moulding and de-mildewing the tiles in my bathroom.

It doesn't get any crazier than that.

Now my hands smell like the local swimming baths crica 1975.

And to really push the envelope I'm doing it while listening to Micheal Nyman.

Totally mad.

British Scientists
Earlier on I submitted to my fetish of polishing the Hornet with some more of that Swizoil Concours paste/polish I was given and bloody hell it's brilliant - no pun intended.
It feels like the paint/laquer has been coated in laminate rather than a than a thin film of polish.
It's hard to describe but it's finish feels harder and more protected than before.
I'm very very impressed but at £90 a tub for what looks like a 1/4 of a litre I'd expect something more than the usual.
Now I'm afraid to ride it.

my two are a pair of imps i was making turkish filled pastry tonight, busy buttering a load of filo dough on the kitchen table .... alita was sitting on a chair chewing on the edge of the buttered pastry, and bindi marched straight across it once - then finding that there was a tasty buttery coating on her paws, decided to do it again. i've heard of buttering a cat's paws to make sure it doesn't stray too far from home but i've never heard of a self-buttering kitteh.

I think that 'if you're eating it, it must be mine' is hardwired into a cat's brain.

I was making a yogurt smoothie the other day and I turned around to get a glass from the cupboard. When I turned back, Sprocket, my orange guy, had a paw in the blender jar taking a sample!

Roly-poly pudding
You'll have to remind Bindi of what nearly happened to Tom Kitten.

c.f. "The Tale of Samuel Whiskers or The Roly-Poly Pudding".

ROFL emoticon she's just about pudding-sized.

bless their little hearts. they broke into the storage room last night, ripped open a 3kg sack of kibble, and gorged themselves on it. i was wondering why nobody woke me up at 5am to ask for breakfast. the kibble is now locked inside their cat carrier

BleuBelle: skittles looks like a gorgeous brindle .... alita is tabby on the head, shoulders, and front legs, but brindle on her body, and then tabby again on the tail. somebody got really confused while they were making her.

Well today I learned how to ride my Yam 125 up and down the street.

It's going to take a miracle for me to learn to get away with any speed and its a pain in the arse compared to riding a Vespa but I am assured that I will get the bug eventually.

Still, my dominant thought was "why the eff would you do this to yourself in Central London?"

Indeed. Why you would ever want to drive/ride anything with manual gears in a city is beyond me, apart from the economy angle of course. You'll probably find that your little Yam gets over 100mpg, in fact it will probably get you to Newcastle on one tank.
