Greetings to new member Bumpstart, publisher of American Scooterist, and of Bumpstart, the Pacific NW Scooter Magzine! Welcome 8)

We just had breakfast with ks7877, who is making her heroic road trip from San Diego via Amerivespa, up the west coast to Victoria, BC, and then points beyond-- With two new Zippy 1's from the fine folks at P-Town Scooters, she's on her way to the Oregon coast this morning. (Our 10 days of scooting in the Greek Islands weren't enough to slake her insatiable scooter thirst.) Scoot safe, Karen!

Have a nice, safe, leisurely ride Karen! Make sure to stop at the Tillamook Creamery!

Bumpstart .... do you mean that Dave M. is now posting on MV? If so, his editing skills will improve the quality of our trash talk.

Karen made a bee-line (wasp line?) for Portland (she had to visit me!), then a zigzag back to Cannon Beach today, so missed Tillamook this trip.

It's Dave's co-conspirator Karen G. who's just joined us-- Dave's been here from time to time. Between the two of them we're sure to have our trash talk elevated!

Judy, the Greek Island rally was fantastic-- there are some posts in the 'rallies' forum, and some pix on scoot.net for more details. I think you were off on one of your marvelous world tours when we were swooping around mountain hairpins and consuming scrumptous Greek food and drink.... 8)

Hey Bobo and MV,

Good to "meet" you all. I'm Karen G. (Bumpstart) from Portland. I like long scooter rides, Vernors ginger ale, and finding the essence from within. I currently own a Kymco People 150 and a 1967 Simson Schwalbe. Thinking of getting a Vespa S. Rode Dave M's at Amerivespa and found it a good fit.

Had breakfast was Karen and Debra this morning. Heard all about the Greek scooter vacation and am totally jealous. Keep me posted on anymore fun international scooter travel.

See ya on the boards.

Hey, Karen-- Great to see you again at Bar Avignon! After hearing about your excellent scooter trip in Italy, I think you should be on the organizing committee for our next transnational scooter escapade-- 8)
Welcome welcome---

There's a scoot magazine specifically for the Pacific NW?  I had no idea.

I was going to ask how to sign up but found a subscription link on the Bumpstart website.  Looking forward to the first issue!

Checked out the Greece photos. Wow, that looked like an amazing time. Lots of great shots, everybody. I'm so there for next year's trip.

Lostboy - Thanks for checking out the site and subscribing! The 'zine is also available in Seattle at the scooter shops if you wanna get a sneak peek while waiting for it to arrive in the mail.

Anyone hear from San Diego Karen? Wondering if she's in Canada yet.

My buddy just gave me the first two issues of Bumpstart. It is so nice to see in our electronic age that people are still making quality zines, I love it

Thanks Mocker, glad you like it! : )

The Pacific NW has a rich scooter 'zine history. Before mine there was: Jeff Lillie's PDX Scooter Rider, Susan Goodwin and Denean Mauer's PDX Uncensored, Vespa Club of Canada had The Indicator, and before Bumpstart I did a 'zine for Oregon Scooter Club called Kickstart. Yep, we're big on the DIY here.

I'm happy to say that issue #3 of Bumpstart just hit the newstands today.

Cheers,
Karen G.

Congrats, Karen G.! I enjoyed the copy you gave me and passed along to another scooter enthusiast. I can't wait to get the latest copy of your other magazine, American Scooterist.

(By the way, I did make it to Canada. LOVED it!! Will post something in the Ride Report section later.)
