This might be fun - due to festival goings on here, this year I have tent, sleeping bag, stupid little primus stove and all the kit I need to attend.

I promise a sober look with no stupid jester hats though.

Yes I did. Why is that a problem? I don't ride Modern Vespas. This logo was my idea, and designed by a graphic artist friend of mine for a vintage-only 2-day race. The person in question who is using it stole it. Maybe that doesn't mean anything to you, but it is still theft. They did not ask to use it, I do not know who they are, and it especially sucks that the logo, as I said, was designed for the first ever 2-day vintage only scooter race in the US. I have no idea what that means.


Again - person who is the thief who stole the logo - stop using it.

Exactly. I have all documentation from when I first conceptualized the design to when it was created, sent to printers for posters and sent to the patchmaker for patches, as well as to the t-shirt artist.

This design was created for the first ever vintage only scooter race in the US. It is NOT a random scooter image, nor was it created for a rally. The only people who have the t-shirts and patches are those who actually participated in the race. In short, it is a special, limited edition creation for one event.

The organizers of this rally made no attempt to contact me or anyone associated with the CORSA: IFP and this flyer was brought to my attention by someone who actually participated in the race.

The riders in that race do not appreciate the use of the image. The lack of concern amongst some of you about outright theft is also enlightening.

I am the person who created the flyer. I was given this small lo res image from a mate who saw it somewhere on the interwebs, liked it and wanted to incorporate it into a design for our club do. As it came to me with no other information (copyright, contact details etc) and as it came from a site somewhere on the web, it was not possible to find out wether the image was indeed copyrighted.
I sincerely apologize if the use of your logo has caused offense in any way and i would like to request that a moderator remove the image from all posts that it appears in.
You will be pleased to hear that neither I or our club have profited commercially from the use of the logo in our design and in no way was the logo used to promote or sell any product or service (other than that of our small, all inclusive, non profit making, annual scooter club event).

Please accept my full apology and hope you can forgive this transgression.

Thank you for your apology. As I mentioned this logo was created for a special vintage race and the only people who are authorized to have the patches and t-shirts are those who actually raced in the event.

I did not do the actual design of the logo, but I did conceptualize it and give my idea to a graphic artist who then created the logo as I posted it earlier (that's the patch design, by the way).

The race was just last month and the logo was created soon before then. Googling CORSA: IFP would have got you to me as the logo only exists on the internet in a very few select places.

Regardless, thank you for the apology. Given that this was handled professionally I can ask the participants (and the actual graphic designer) if there are any problems with your using the logo, provided that you credit the logo design as coming from the CORSA: IFP vintage race.

I hope you can see my/our viewpoint on this and why we want to keep this logo special. Given you're on the wrong side of the pond there is likely to be little crossover. I just ask that if the racers in the event don't mind the logo being used, that it is not put on any patches, or t-shirts. If it is just being used on your flyer, and the flyer only I just ask that you credit that the image was from the CORSA (and maybe one day some of you vintage riders can come over here and race in the event).
