Hello, I replaced my stock maxxis tyres whith oversized Heinedau K61 front and rear 8 months ago, run it for 1500km since then. Realy loving the ride, for me they are perfect, or should I say were perfect, yesterday taking a look at my lx after a 300km trip, found a transversal crack that covers the entire tread on the front tyre.
Any one heard or saw something like this?
Posting some pics.

I would email the mnfg or the person you bought them from to see if they have a warranty against defects?

Nope, nice roads here in La Gomera, Canary Islands. 100% perfect paving.
I bought them on the Net at SIP Scooterworks. I think that is a factory defect.
I am also happy that i found out standing still and not as a blow out! Only thinking about a front tyre blow out gives me the creeps!

Continentals were experiencing a very similar failure. About a year ago some of our club members were posting pictures like this of their Zippys. One of our local dealers switched to michelins after experiencing this issue with the continental brand. After hearing so many great posts some with as low as 34 kms of use on these tires, being praised like the final comming or the Utopia of the tire world, I am surprised they wear at all and even more suprised that they are delaminating.

Any update on your tire situation? I am looking into getting these tires also, but would like to know outcome first.

I am running a K61 on my mp3 250. Just went and checked it...still looks good after 1500+ miles. That must be a factory defect.

We've only got the pictures to go by - but could that not be down to someone slashing them? The cuts/cracks don't look as though they are very deep, perhaps just consider them as an extra tread for the moment, but keep an eye on them?

With JimC as far as the depth is concerned. This looks like a rather superficial scratch, only surface, nothing visible inside the tread channel.

Not saying it isn't deep, but it sure doesn't look like it.

That is not delamination, and those marks don't look like cuts or vandalism. I notice that there is wear high on the sidewalls and all but the last row of "chicken tits" are gone. Is OP a hard rider or were they run at low inflation? That could be road damage, especially if that tire was run at low inflation.

this is not uncommon, it is factory flawed, It looks just like someone sliced it. It is almost like something like water or foreign material gets in there during manufacturing causing rubber not to bind. I have seen this before on Continentals, exactly the same. maybe delaminating is the wrong word, but this is a warrenty issue.

you should def have them inspected though not sure the process for where you live.
But here you get them taken off and inspected under complaint and you then need to buy new tyres in the mean time which you must pay for.
Once the report comes back you should be offered a refund from 0 to 100% of the purchase price dependent on the issue and any good will compensation. Always ask the dealer to see the report so you can see for yourself what has been reported rather than just what the dealer tells you was in the report. The inspection should be an independent report so you should not have any worries there.
