My new to me 2006 Fly has started to make some really loud growling sounds. The noise is intermittent and is ONLY when first giving throttle and taking off from a stop. Very loud and only for a moment, then everything is normal. It seems to happen more often after riding for a few miles. It never does it first time in the morning.

In addition, the scooter seems to be <pulling> even when at a stop. If I stand up with the scooter idling, it seems to want to go forward. This also appears mostly after a few miles of riding around town.

3100 miles and all service has been done at a Vespa dealer.

TIA for any help.

Search for GT200 shuddering, or just shuddering. This sounds just like it. Mine also does it when the machine is warm and after frequent stops and starts.

Sounds like you may want to turn the idle down a notch, too.
