Hello, everyone. I'd like to invite you all to the 10th SWERVE 'N' CURVE SCOOTER RALLY next month, August 21-23. All scooters are welcome.

If you've never been to this SoCal classic rally, you should definitely come out. It's all about having good times, good rides with good folks. If you have been, then you know it's always a great way to wrap up the local summer riding season.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 21:

7:30PM: Meet 'n' greet at TBD. Early comers can buy rally packs here.

9PM: Night time SNC Beach Ride #1; we will take a quick ride along the South Bay beaches, then come back to the original location where we took off from, to hook up with the stragglers and scooterists who missed us.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 22:

11AM: Meet at South Bay Vespa, 18425 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90504. Be sure to get your RIDE MAP for the day's ride, which will be handed out here. You can also get rally packs here.

(If you're coming from the North: Meet at Cock N Bull Pub, at 2947 Lincoln Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90405, at 9:30am; ride leaves at 10:30AM for Claim Jumper's)

12noon: Ride leaves for the famous South Bay Swerve 'N' Curve route around Palos Verdes.

We will end the ride at TBD. Rally packs will be available here, as well.

Evening ride/festivities:
8PM: Meet at Cock N Bull Pub for Night time Beach Ride #2, sponsored by the Westside SC. 2947 Lincoln Blvd. (cross street Ashland), Santa Monica, CA 90405, (310) 399-9696. This ride is for Italian scooters only - please respect our wishes.

9PM: Ride leaves for Night time Beach Ride #2, the popular "Venice Canals Ride".

10PM: Arrive at Bar Melody for the Swerve N Curve version of the Westside Soul Club. Bar Melody is located at 9132 Sepulveda Blvd., Westchester, CA 90405, (310) 670-1994.

DJ's playing the best of Reggae, Soul, Brit Pop, Ska & Mod all night long:
Jesse Trejo (WSSC), Jason Lawless (Ram Jam Club), Ted Morris (Trojan Lounge), Kristian Storli (WSSC / Bar Italia), DJ Kev (Club Impact) and Sean Needham (WSSC)

Those with Rally Packs get 1/2 off cover of $5.
Regular admission $5 before 11pm, $8 afterwards.
Ladies FREE before 10:30pm. FULL BAR / All ages.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 23:

Okay I'll be the obnoxious one to ask...

I checked out the site but I don't see where it says how much it costs for Rally Packs, Raffle Tickets, etc.

If I want to ride the Saturday ride do I need a Rally Pack?

Is anyone else coming from the Pasadena area that would scoot to the meet up with me (sans freeways?).

Nothing abnoxious about asking - no worries. Rally Packs are only if you want them; you don't need them to do anything at the rally. Just come out and ride and have a good time, sans the rally pack. You get a discount if you've bought a rally pack for the entrance to the Saturday nite event, but other than that the rally packs are just for your enjoyment.

FYI, they will be $25 (earlier I said they would be $20, but the shirts ended up costing more than we figured), and will consist of the rally t-shirt, patch and pin, along with a wrist band for the Sat nite event and some sponsor schwag. (the reason the rally pack page and others are not up on the site yet is because the web pages are still being coded and will be put up later this week)

I rolling out for this ride, gotta support SBSC, so if you want to roll together we can.

Is anyone considering riding from the SF Bay area down to this rally?

Don't think so,
Was a 'rally virgin' until Amerivespa this last 4th.
Did a lot of firsts that weekend. First rally, first group ride (San Juan Bautista), seeing first gymkhana, etc.
Liked it so much I went out and bought a GTS300 to add to the stable. LOL
Will be doing more group rides in the future. (Now that I know what the hand signals mean).

I think you asked me why my blue LX was a different shade than yours. Was that you?
