Now as much as I like the look of the Corazzo jackets, I would never buy one because I do think they are stupid expensive for what they are.

Like a lot of things I think it is the "image" of their line that appeals to people rather than the jackets themselves. For less than the cost of a Corazzo 5.0, I can get a really nice Frank Thomas armored leather jacket with a removable liner that could be worn anywhere without looking like you were part of a biker gang (not that Corazzo's have that look).

Dainese Santa Monica with perforated leather torso and zip out liner. Because Dainese is one of the best and this jacket is very versatile. The engineering of the product is second to none.

Dainese armored mesh for high temp days.

I'm a leather freak, especially cafe racer jackets. The one I chose is from aero leather clothing out of Galashiels, Scotland. This one is in front quarter horsehide and it's super thick and heavy.

Now this I want to hear about. Please tell us - how/when does one get Corazzo to do custom jackets? Yours truly is of unusual sizing and would be very interested in such service.

I got my Armadillo Camovision from Urban Rider UK about a month ago and I love it.

I can't get over all the features the jacket has. There are four pockets on the outside, 2 pockets on the inside, removable fleece liner, 3M reflective camo pattern/zipper, removable hood, underarm vents, headphone loops, velcro wrist straps, storm cuffs, high collar, etc.

I wear a Ben Sherman track jacket which is pretty dumb especially if I get T-bonered or crash.

I really should get a true riding jacket.

Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 Mesh Jacket
I've got Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 Mesh Jacket about a month ago and I love it. Removable layer makes it almost perfect for our rainy Boston summer. Large size fits me (6'0", 160 lbs) nicely. Air flow thru the jacket is great and even with almost no "hot spots". Very comfortable and protection is almost unnoticeable which is remarkable for such thin and light jacket. My only complain - with all armor in place it hardly fits under GTS250 seat.

You may want to take a look @

http://www.motoport.com/Home

They use Kevlar and check their Reviews, re: protection and comfort...a bit pricey but if you're goal is full body armor protection on interstate...may want to consider.

I use a Fieldsheer Aviator. I got it because it was/is on a sick sale. But I like it for its features. Comes with a nice removable liner, protective armor in the arms and shoulders, vents, fits well, AND has a cushioning pad in the back to help (to an extent) pad a fall, which is more than you usually expect from lower-priced jackets.

I also like its subtle looks... I didn't want a flashy jacket or anything. Up close, it is still obvious I'm wearing an armored motorcycle jacket, but at least I don't look like a Robocop

Runs a little warm, even without the liner, due to it being a synthetic manufacture. But the shoulder vents in particular are great when you are actually MOVING... like jet intakes for your body.

I'd recommend it. I read the sizes ran small, but I got the size I would normally wear and it fit great...

Tourmaster Pivot 2 (my everyday jacket since it can be cool most of the time in Santa Crua CA) and a Joe Rocket perforated leather for those rare hot days. I like them both a lot.

Try www.newwnough.com Good site and wide selection of jackets. Many with good priving.

Cold weather:

Tucano Urbano Urbis

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

It is very warm and best of all very non-power ranger / sport biker rider looking. I wear it to work in the winter, even when not on the bike.

Hot weather:

I just bought a first gear mesh tech. Seems OK, I am not in love with the looks at all, but the price was right and it seems to work well (has a zip out windproof liner which is great for cool mornings). I wanted the Corazzo speedway mesh - but it did not seem to fit my needs or my budget (not full mesh and no rainproof or windproof liner). I have heard that Corazzo has a full mesh jacket in the works and it is due out in the fall. I kind of want to see how that turns out before I spend a lot on a warm weather jacket (this one was only $85)

I'm wearing the AlpineStars AirFlo and love it, but it is starting to get hot in stand-still eighty degree weather.

I also have a Corazzo jacket with armor- it fits great- I actually look like a woman instead of a big rectangle and it is a nice color with 3M reflective trim on it. I am very comfy in it when I ride.

First Gear:
Red Kilimanjaro for the cold.
Silver Mesh Tex for the warm.
Great looking jackets. And I think I find new hidden pockets every time I wear them. They're just wonderfully constructed and not too pricey.
They fit really well, too. Usually my long arms are a problem, but not with these.

Riding Jacket
I have the Joe Rocket Cleo 2.0 Jacket.

Because I am a small framed woman with a lot of um, 'chestage' it was difficult for me to initially find a jacket which fit my shoulder (narrow) and chest (large). This jacked does it so well, I bought a second one, which you can see in my profile pic. There are straps that allow it to cinch in across the back and waist. It also has a zip out waterproof liner. Additionally, I can wear a fleece jacket underneath for warmth in the winter months, but as it's basically a textile jacket, it still is a bit too cold for winter rides. I got mine cheap on ebay once I knew what size fit me.

So, this past week at Amerivespa, I got the Corrazo 5.0 jacket.
Not only did I like the retro style and high reflectivity of the striping (very visible) and it was on sale. It has a fleece lining, and it's more wind-proof than my joe rocket jacket. It's not water-proof, just resistant. But it has proven to be a warmer jacket on cool night rides. I don't like the fact that the fit is not more adjustable, but there are so few manufacturers that make truly women sized products (and not just pink colored men's versions) that I can't be picky.

I have a thing for leather, the way it is snug and does not move around in the wind. As well as it's safety in a get off. I use Dainese Arizona and Vanson Italia which is a special production run made only for ProItalia.
This jacket kicked my butt until it broke in. Now it fits me like it was molded to me.

Very nice Desmo! I know what you mean--my Aero horsehide is 5 months old and the break-in process probably isn't even halfway complete. The other jackets I was considering before deciding on Aero included the Vanson model A and the Lost Worlds Buco Rider.

I'm selling my Corazzo 5.0, if anyone is interested.

Yesterday I picked up my Shop Jacket and took it on a 150-mile trip today. Went from warm inland ~80 degrees to very cool coastside ~60 degress and back to afternoon inland ~90 degrees. The Shop Jacket is miles more comfortable for me than the 5.0, but has very little wind protection, which I am OK with when the temps are in the higher ranges. The Shop Jacket fits my riding position and build better than the 5.0.

So, I guess that makes my jackets as follows:
1. Power Trip "traditional" crotch rocket jacket in black for cool-weather/all-around use
2. Corazzo Shop Jacket in blue for meet-ups and patch display
3. First Gear mesh in red for real hot weather

The quality is amazing: the thickness and character of the hide, the precise stitching, the sturdy hardware. The best part is that they make them to order--you just send them your measurements and they'll make one to your exact specs. More pics here:

I recently got a Dainese Lucky textile. Being tall (6'2") and skinny (175#), it fits quite nicely likely a fitted shirt. Most others I tried were too baggy or loose and the back would ride up and blind people with my white backside It was a little more expensive than some, but the fit was worth it.

I have used different armored jackets and like the style, fit and feel of the Cortech Denim jacket. Repeating another post's phrase, it avoids the power ranger look.

i have a corazzo shop jacket. i consider it a starter riding jacket. it does have CE rated knox armor, but it's shell is a just a cotton poly with a few cordura inserts. it is not the best protection, but it looks really nice. someday, maybe next season, i will buy another riding jacket with a more protective shell. i do have my eye on the speedway.

I love my Olympia Air Glide for Spring, Summer, and Fall. It's mesh with a waterproof liner. The removable liner woks well in the Spring/Fall transitions before it's to hot in the summer and to cold in the winter...
.External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

I also have a Belstaff Discovery jacket (sold through British Motorcycle Gear) that is ridiculous. Crazy warm, very water proof, I love it. Once the temps hit the high 50s I can wear just a dress shirt with that and still feel plenty toasty. One of the best investments I've made.
External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

I'll use other random leather jackets and parkas/trench coats for some short tips or business meetings and the like. I wear an armored jacket about 90% of the time.

Well I was on the prowl for a new bomber anyway and saw the review on the Corazzo so I picked up one of those and some carbone gloves to go with it. Should arrive tomorrow. Hope it fits/feels as good as it looks.
