Hi,
This is Jimmy from Go Go Go (scooter shop). I just wanted to announce that the coolest scooter shop in Austin is about to open for business! Go Go Go is conveniently located on E 5th street, right in the heart of the "super cool" district. Go Go Go is a full spectrum shop, happy to satisfy all your scooter needs from basic maintenance, scheduled services, tune-ups, all types of repair, insurance estimates, custom modifications of all types, including paint, powder coat, custom decals, lighting, suspension, seat modification, covers and upholstery, as well as all types of performance upgrades and modifications. Don't be like everybody else. Let's make all your crazy scooter fantasies a reality! The shop is almost ready to open officially. In the mean time, I'm happy to work on your bikes but can't guarantee what times I'll be at the shop so call me if you want to come check it out. Maybe you could be the next happy customer! I hope to see you and your scooter soon!

Grand opening party July 25th! Free beer! Pizza! Awesome fun!

Call me if you have any questions - Jimmy 512 538 7276

Only in Texas would a motorcycle shop offer "free beer" at their grand opening.

Good luck !

More proof that the rest of the world does not understand us. Jimbo worked at Vespa Austin for a while and is getting out on his own now.

Wow, first Lester opened Austin Moped, and now Jimbo is about to open Go Go Go?! Man, Vespa Austin sure can spawn some new stores...(and I wonder why)? Nerd emoticon

Good to know that they are getting out on their own. God knows we sure could use more good, honest, and reliable scooter stores.

I'm lost, now. What's not to understand about free beer and pizza? Maybe we should take a poll: If you think free beer and pizza at the scooter shop grand opening party is a good idea, say AYE!

All opposed, just follow the link to DISNEY.COM

Maybe, because it's Austin, I should change it to free tofu and kombucha?

Capital City Scooters in Columbus OH had free beer and hot dogs at their grand opening a few weeks ago.

I could tell I was in the big city because there were lots of people drinking beer on the sidewalk in front of the store and no one got arrested.

In my small town you'd be in the clink.

Yes, that's Leslie . . . the homeless guy (gal?) that spends a lot of time around 6th Street & Congress Avenue.

From Wikipedia:
Quote:
Leslie Cochran (born as Albert Leslie Cochran[1][2] on June 24, 1951) is an American vagrant cross-dresser and arguably the most locally famous street person, according to local media sources, in Austin, Texas. He is an outspoken critic of police treatment of the homeless in the downtown Austin area. Many consider him to be the epitome of the 'Keep Austin Weird' campaign, as demonstrated by his two time run for mayor as well as numerous articles in The Austin Chronicle and local news stations.

Prior to moving to Austin Leslie lived in the Northwest and at one time worked as a truck driver frequently traveling up and down the West coast. Leslie has told the Austin American-Statesman that he was briefly married in 1985 or 1986. He said he grew up south of Miami, briefly attended University of Florida on a football scholarship, spent nine months in the Naval Reserve in 1974 and 1975, worked for Safeway grocery stores in Seattle, skinned road-kill in Colorado and tanned the hides, worked as a disc jockey near Steamboat Springs, Colo., lived in a converted bookmobile in Shreveport, La., Tampa, Fla., and Atlanta, and then took a year to ride a three-wheeled bicycle to Austin in January 1996.[1]

Leslie hangs out around 6th Street, usually around 6th and Congress during business hours. He can also often be found at Bouldin Creek Coffeehouse during late afternoons and early evenings. He is most frequently seen wearing women's clothing; his most popular attire is a leopard thong and high-heeled shoes. Leslie prefers to be known as a man.[3]

Thanks, guys! I knew there was something familiar about "him". So talented; yet so troubled.

Yeah, I've had quite a few close encounters with him. I used to always see him outside David's food store. Once I saw him downtown and asked him for advice. He was very drunk. I asked him if he had any general advice to help me live my life. He said "it's all about respect." Good advice. The next thing he said was about the most vulgar thing I've ever heard. Unfortunately it probably violates the rules of this message board, so I won't be sharing it. Another time, I saw him trying to hitch a ride downtown. I picked him up. Turns out he lived really close to me. I don't think he said much to me that night. I think I just sort of talked his ear off about some girl problem or something like that. I seem to remember feeling like I made him a little uncomfortable with my willingness to spill the beans to him. Laughing emoticon

Mine was seeing him somewhere 6th & Congress from inside of a moving car. Sure hope he's doing better these days.
