Modern Vespa

My dads last ride was the 2 weeks before Easter on his new GTV 250 he passed away on Holy Saturday and was interred in Arlington National Cemetery July 1st. I think it is important for all of us to remember who defends our freedoms including riding.

Sorry for your loss, but glad to see he had a decent send-off. I'm fully with you here, my elder son did four years in the British Army.

I do find it true to the nature of the military that even in death, they make you get in line and wait.

I was a pallbearer at my Gramps' military funeral, and the 21 gun salute did me in...but it was an appropriate send-off.

My Dad was a Corpsman in Vietnam. He is 65 and I am leaving in a week to spend a month with him before college semester starts back up. I realize, that like your father, he won't be here forever. My dad never talks about the war nor about what he did for the country...he just talks about the great friends he had and made over there and in the service. It's amazing not only how much we owe to those that serve, but also to how little recognition they get or ask for. That to me is the truest sign of a hero. God bless you and your family during this time and thanks for sharing such an important day in your life.

One does not truly know the sacrifice our men and women make in the military unless you have experienced iti served in the navy from '76 through '81. My dad served in WWII and the Korean war and my grandfather served in WWI.

Thanks to those generations for our freedom.
