Modern Vespa

So I got a radio from shanghai...and a horn from brazil and installed them this weekend (and last).

The radio is pretty good for the money (see Jerryw's post)...not a Bose system for sure but not terrible...sounds like a top end mono boombox from the late 70's with less bass. And it has a jack to plug in your mp3 player. (heed jerry's warning not to use an mp3 player that has a hard drive...it will crash)

the horn is a Fiamm made in brazil and has a c high tone and a d low...it is the one 88andstillriding liked.

had fun with this...the horn is very loud and i look forward to blasting cagers....ask any questions...i know i could have posted more detail but it is late and i am tired

Thanks OAD. It was fun, especially snaking a 12 guage wire from the battery to the relay...20amp fuse protected...now I got the power right there so I add a 12 volt plug for my gps soon.

Wish the radio got better fm reception but at least I can plug my mp3 player into it. Hoping that adding a real antenna will help it.

Can you get The Beach Boys on those things....usually all I hear from someone's ride is BASS.... ...nice job..thanks for sharing...cheers, jacq

I understand about snaking wires thru small places. right now I am renovating my house and having to pull new wiring in and over and thru and up and down. a real pain in the ass. but in the end I will have all new wire and the old cloth wrapped stuff gone.

It will probably get the beach boys as long as i am not far from the station...and no need to worry about base with these tiny speakers

OAD sounds like quite a project...will be worth it to get rid of those old wires though.

Ha! From what I know of him he would love to demolish stuff...as long as he can fix it, mod it out and make is shiny and pretty again. He must have had another reason to get going...sale at the piaggio dealers parts store perhaps

, Okay, let the truth be known...I 'dragged' OAD out of the house to talk mp3 and discuss mods. By the time were were 5 mins into "And then I could add this..." his lovely wife was giving us the dirty glare as if to say "This remodeled home is gonna be lovely, especially when I have it all to my self!" . So we had to cut short our mod session or as I like to call em "barn burners"(ask OAD). So while OAD was back to hitting stuff with sledgehammers, I was off to the store to buy a torque wrench and get to work on my rear tire.

yeah yeah yeah. she does give that look sometimes. Today nothing though as the power co was doing a new pole change out and then Luthprhuss just happened by he was all spiffyed up just comin from a job interview. We did have a good chat on the front porch. Then it was back to pullin wire and fixin the drywall on the ceiling.

Must have been quite a power suit he had on...worked for him. congrats again luthorhuss!
