I am sure this has been covered in the past but I did not find recent postings searching:
extended and range and lx150
larger and tank
capacity and gas

...and a few others along that line.

I see our Mp3 friends have come up with some awesome ideas and solutions, I am just wondering if anyone has a solution for the LX's other than carrying fuel bottles.

I have some flat lands to explore and I feel compelled to stop every 60 miles because I just never know if that little station 30 miles ahead is going to be open or not.

The LX has a carb right? If so you could strap a small Tour Tank onto the rear rack and and plumb it in.

You could definitely mount one of these on a rear rack.

I was looking into this recently and there are some other types of auxiliary tanks that might work:

Much cheaper than metal. The 1.3 gallon Acerbis tank may fit in a top case, even though it's made to go on the front of a dirt bike... drill some holes, run some tubing and a valve... presto!

I wound up just getting 2 1L Brunton fuel bottles. Much cheaper, much less hassle. Maybe if I do a bigger trip...
