Just discovered a nail in my Fly 150's rear tire, so I'm going to have both front and rear replaced (stock Chinese tires on there now). The shop is recommending Michelins. Suggestions?

Thanks, guys!

I have not tired tires from them yet, but there are several posts on here about the different brands of tires, and how well they ride, and wear... do some searching and you should find the info you need to decide what tire to go with for your scoot.

Hey Laura....
I just had the same question last week (great minds ).

Here is the discussion:
https://modernvespa.com/forum/topic49241

In short there was lots of love for the Heidenau tires -- but that is kind of a pain for me with availablity.

I am having the Michelin Pilot City put on tomorrow.

The stock cheng shin tyres are fine on the fly even in the wet I would fit the new tyre on the front wheel and have the old front tyre moved to the back , why waste money

I have the Michelin Pilot City, and I really like them. Seem to be wearing well also.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I read through some of the other threads as well. Think I'll go with the Michelins. I'll give you a ride report soon!

I ended up going with Continental Zippy 1's on front and rear (shop didn't have Michelin's in stock). Now, my question is, are the tire inflation pressures the same on the Zippy's as on the Chen Shin's they replaced? I'm assuming I should always go with what the glove box sticker says. Advice?

Thanks!

I stock my own tires since I bought the scooter. Dealers don't ever stock what you need and are usually over priced on tires too. So I get all my tires from www.MotorcycleSuperStore.com and keep a rear and a set of fronts in the basement. Ride the scooter everyday, so I try and plan for as little down time as possible.

You will love the Zippys! I rode in the rain for the first time with the new tires and wow, in the wet they grip as good as the stock tires did... in the dry. Don't forget your Dyna-beads if you have any balancing issues. They are awesome!

I took one short ride and WOW! What a difference the Zippy's make! The ride is much more stable, especially in the turns.

I notice that the shop used square shaped weights on each tire, so I assume they are balanced. Time will tell.

Thanks for the input!
