Hello everybody

Ah my first post and it's one to ask for a bit of help

I just purchased my first scooter, and it's really really great, it looks good, it's simple and has this style about that people love, it makes people happy! Very weird to be receiving this info from something I thought it would be just a commuter!

Anyway... When I press the start button all of the electrics go down, no oil light, no indicator, no brake, no headlight, nada.

It did turn over and start the engine in a kind of scrapey way a couple of times when I bought it 2 weeks ago, and now it will just kill all of the electrics, which after the engine has been kick-started come back to life*

* This coming back to life has taken as little as 2 minutes of running or as much as several hours.

I suspected a flat battery, but not so sure now, could it be something has jammed or is it a common fault like a short circuit?

Be glad of any advice

Check the terminals are tight on your battery, but I suspect a flat battery. Charge it or replace it.

OK - previous owner seems to think the batt is only 6 months old, would driving it around charge it up? Maybe just a duff battery right

Also while I'm on here, does anyone know why my clock on the speedo cluster is not working? Is this a simple battery thing like a watch?

Thanks!

By the sounds of it the battery has been fully discharged for too long for it likely to be much use in future - new battery needed for sure. Then check that all fuses are intact.
