Modern Vespa

I have a AGV Miglia Flip-up. Love the Helmet. Have taken good care of it. I pulled into a Gas Station today and I hit the Flip-up Button and one side of my face Mask came off sideways! The 1/4 inch Bolt that that keeps the whold Facemask on fell-off. Is this a replacable part? Will try to get a photo posted.

Most of those kinds of parts are replaceable. Check with your local retailer or the distributor.

Can the same thing happen during an accident? I would be scared to keep the helmet myself.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I was a little spooked that the bolt fell off. I have never mistreated my helmet. Always put it down gently...Might look for a non-Flip-up.....

Might be worth emailing AGV about it - they'll know what parts are replacable but they might be interested in getting the helmet back. I wouldn't have thought such a reputable helmet manufacturer would want their lids doing that.

It could be that it's the sort of failure that couldn't have happened without the catch being operated but I'm sure it would have been pretty unpleasant if you had been skiting along the road on your face when it did.

same thing happened to me in the keyfoods parking lot here... luckily i found it, and have a large collection of hex wrenches at the studio... now i always make sure that they haven't worked their way loose.

great helmet other than that, though.

that happened to me too! you can go into where you got the helmet from they should have spare bolts for your helmet lying around. =)

Again - Thanks all. I will contact a few shops. I purchased the helmet online...Going to purchase a Hex Wrench....

Not happy about riding today with the missing bolt but I guess it is better than riding with a Half Helmet....
