Hi Everyone,

Any tips on where to download the MP3 500 workshop manual. I was able to get the 250 and 400 here a while back, but now I have a 500. If anyone has the pdf version they can drop me just let me know.

We can all thank JimC for finding those! I had a similar question last week, and it looks like you can ONLY download it, instead of buying a book. Least ways you only get what you want to print.

I didn't find many of them - thank another very good in-work mechanic who has uploaded them to my site. It might not be fair to mention him, as there could be 'issues', but those who know are grateful. Why there should be 'issues' I don't know, as having these manuals available to folk at home must have saved Piaggio a fortune in warranty issues, and some dealers a lot of time and trouble because at least it ensures customers who do have a real problem have at least hopefully narrowed it down. Win-win.

Team-work.

Oh, and if anyone else has any other Piaggio manuals available, please send them to me. AFAIK there are no size limits on any of my incoming email accounts. I think we need the 'S' series...

There seems to be a major Internet failure here in the UK. It is affecting my usual connectivity ISP (I am using a backup) and also my hosting company. No news yet on the cause.

How much space does it need?

Disk usage just under 3GB at the moment, allow for 10GB for future expansion. Data transfer last month was 273GB, so far this month it is over 370GB. Ever expanding. I'm meant to keep within 20GB...

A mirror site would be great, eggs in one basket is not a good idea.

That should be no problem.

Is there a mirror yet?

I'd like to download a mirror of the mirror, make a t'rent tracker for it, that way take the 10-fold burden excess off jimc, and spread it across all enthusiasts who can down/upload at the same time.

after you down load it to you comp. save it as a PDF and you'll always have it and never have to be online to access it. easy. then if some one you know wants it you can send it to them in a an email.

I got two free employee, 8 GB VPS (Virtual Private Servers) set up, one Linux, one Windoz, not sure which would be best so just got one of each Now just have to get one of my engineers to set it up for me, when they have time. I just rack, stack, cable and load the O/S on the servers the engineers do the rest do the rest.

So, do you think using Piaggio in the domain man for the mirrored website might be pushing it a little? Have a great domain in mind but think it may be asking for trouble.
How protective of having these manuals on line is Piaggio?
Don't want to give out any of the ideas so no one grabs them. But have checked and it's available.

Way too much precedence where they can complain you're cyber-squatting and the PTB (Powers That Be) will hand it over to then with no comp on your part. So if you want to give them a freebie...

Yeah - just watch when it's renewal time. From what I understand if it's a successful domain they try to claim they own it.

I'll get it switched over to the company I work for when it expires. The first year at go daddy is a deal

I'm going to make a suggestion for you that might even make you some $$$.
Instead of a website make it a Google Blogspot blog. It's free, you can turn on adsense, you can link and have affilitates and you can point your shiny new domain at it. You better check GoDaddy's bandwidth term before you post anything for download. I use FatCow for one of my webs - they're green and have a pretty good rate for a year.

I have 2 VPS on a server with 8 gig each hosted by the company I work for, it's free unless I go nuts. JimC was saying his high is in the high 300 meg a mount. They are Free employee accounts, I can't make money of them or the free part goes away. As long as I am not doing over 500 gig a month I should be fine.

That's what you'll see while GoDaddy "parks" the website. Wayne will now have to make a website to replace all that crap. They may even have a thing that says they have to right to "wrap" his website and put banners and popups and all sorts of stuff. GoDaddy has a bit of a rep - dunno if they're still that way pr not...

Should show under construction tomorrow. Then I just have to download all the manuals and bribe a tech to write a little script and get some info from JimcC I thing and wala mirror. Hope it's that easy. In any case will be easy for me, just have to see how many favors it will take

Yeah, I didn't have the domain set up right, so the tech couldn't use that domain. Should be fixed by next week
