Topic inspired by my joke post in another thread...started me waxing nostalgic.

What was your most reliable bike from a maintenance standpoint?

Mine was a 1977 Honda CB550. Never had a problem with it over 5 years and maintenance was easy...although it did lack a bit in performance i didn't know it then. Come to think of it though I did lowside it once taking a corner too hot that my mp3 could have handled with ease. Laughing emoticon

And I have to say my mp3 has been pretty good too...knock on plastic.
Honda CB550...mine was red.

Almost all my bikes have been very reliable with the exception of one. It was a trials bike I restored. A 1974 Montessa Cota 348. That piece of Spanish crap broke down and left me stranded pretty much every time I rode it. I put so much time and money into it that I kept riding it trying to justify what I had done. After 6 months of work and 2 years of grief I basically gave the thing away.
