Hey guys,
I hope somebody can help me with this one, i'm sure i read a topic on it in the forum before but cant find it for the life of me. Just got my et4 back yesterday from getting the belt, rollers and weights changed(EUR320), also had to get a new case for the rollers as the worn ones had worn through the metal sides in the casing and putting new rollers in would just lead to same problems again.
Anyway, started the bike this morning and noticed that the headlight wouldn't work, the indicator lights are working fine and the blue light on the dash is also going good but when i turn on the lights(both for regular and full beam) only the town light(little guy in the bottom center) comes on, this is like a candle really compared to the others. I read before this could be a relay and fuse problem as opposed to the bulbs being blown.
Once again any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Lee

Hello Lee,
I had a very similar problem and got it sorted in this thread here. Have you had the headlight in bits for a visual inspection yet?

havent taken it apart yet but i read your other thread and think it could be a short caused by water getting in under the mirrors. Mostly i've come to this conclusion because the lights were workin again today on my way home from work. I'll keep you posted if the problem comes back, thanks again.

Oh aye, forgot about that theory - since that saga I've had to replace both mirrors and there's no longer even the pretence of any sort of rain defence over those holes any more. Haven't had any electric trouble since (touch wood) so it might not be an issue.
My money's on the contact being the source of the fault but make sure and let us know how it pans out for you.

Cheers,
J

I blew through several bulbs before finding out that the tabs on the back of the bulb holder that make contact on the bulb were loose, the lights would do something similar, they would go off, I would go over a bump, and then they would come back on. Took me a while to notice this, because I didn't do any night riding for the first 7 months (Utah law doesn't alow it), could something similar be happening?
