As discussed here:

https://modernvespa.com/forum/topic49130?highlight=dogleg

I just installed my oopsclunkthud "dogleg" brake levers. I placed the order last Wednesday they shipped that Thursday(9th), and I got them this Monday(13th) and installed them the same day.

I Like them.

First off: they look cool.

Second: Definitely easier to reach with my short fingers. I like to cover the breaks when riding in traffic, so they make a big difference in that respect to. Seems to make the brakes more responsive. Must be a change in leverage. No pun intended.

I also like the "beveled" edges over the rounded stock ones. The beveled edges give me a much better grip on the lever, than the smooth rounded stock levers.

They were super easy to install, after wrestling the headset plastic off (which I was planning to take off anyway to install my Jettin headlight visor)

The levers themselves only required a screwdriver and a wrench. (Be careful not to lose to the two washers that are on either side of the stock levers. You'll need those with the doglegs.)

The only improvement I would make, would be to include a free decal in the package.

Very nice product. Well done Patrick.

Patrick had them on display at AmeriVespa and they were beautiful. Solid, smooth and hand-machined (an oxymoron I guess but ya know what I mean).

It's nice to have a report from an actual user now; thanks for the post.

Thanks for the information and pictures. I just ordered a set for my scoot. I also ordered a Jettin short headlight shade. I hope that will eliminate the glare on my windshield at night.

My Vote: Powder Coat.

Anodization (is that a word?) will wear off after awhile. Back in my BMX days They used to anodize a lot of bike parts, and the color would wear off quickly. Especially on the brake levers and crank shafts.

Any chance he might make a set of P series? Disk and non disk would be good, black powder coated would be fan fukin tastic.

I know a load of people over hear who would be interested in those little beauties, oh yes indeed.

P series disk is in line after the LX but that's getting a bit ahead of ourselves.

Hey Astromag those look cool, I like the hole for the flag pole sign that can be added, show us what it look like with the flags in the holes or with the signs telling us how to use the brakes. Or maybe port and starboard colour coded beacons.

I'm not that patriotic or nautical.

Sure will, but my Super needs to arrive in Canada too for me to install them because they'll be going on the new scooter not my current one.

I'll try and take a look at a Sportcity this weekend and confirm. Looking at pictures and parts books I think they will "fit" as in function correctly at the master cylinder, but the ergonomics may be off.

now that I try and compare pix of the GTS stock levers to mine (sportcity). I think mine are already more of a "dogleg" than the GTS ones (but I would love to have a little less reach).

shorter reach, very nice
astromags, great review! May I repost?

oopsclunkthud, if they should fit the MP3 500, would you make them available in black?

Also, would you please consider selling the "oopsclunkthud helmet vinyl" (circa Cannonball 2008)?

Thanks, man! I would like to put a set of those on my three-wheeler, too.

*When a Vespa dealer staff said he would call you Tuesday and it's Friday already, and when you call him and his first word is "Ah...", that usually means the scooter is not ready yet. So when he assures me with a "But, I will call you next Monday, probably about noon", surely he means that (after a 5-week wait) it would finally be ready, right? I hope so.
