What is with the "Front suspension block system trouble warning light"?

It has started blinking while I am riding. If I turn off the bike and re-start, it stops blinking. But it has done this blinking thing while driving 4 times today. When this happens the headlight does not come on.

I do not believe the blinking has anything to do with the seat.

My question, because I can't find anything in the manual, is what is the light warning me about and how concerned should I be?

It is normal for the light to blink whenever the bike is moving less than 6 mph and the throttle is closed to indicate that the tilt lock can be engaged.  Are you seeing the light blink under any other conditions?

Maybe I wasn't being clear. I am referring to the Trouble light located on the bottom row of lights, second from the left. (Page 45 of the owner's manual, item "Q")

My bad.  I wasn't thinking clearly about the problem.

trouble light
rev,
i'm not good at posting other thread links, but this was on a few past ones. if i recall, there's an issue with the seat sensor. occasionally, if i turn the key on before i'm fully seated (i think this is the issue) that warning light comes on as it assumes i'm not on the seat and therefore shouldn't unlock the suspension. i believe you can turn it back off - assuming that you really are seated properly - by double tapping the suspension switch twice to the right.
search the mp3 forums for "suspension lock warning light" there a few threads there that cover this way better than this.

Yeah if your engine is running and you are not on the seat it should be on but if it is blinking while you are moving that is something else....faulty connections on the seat sensor perhaps....I am sure someone will weigh in on this with more knowledge but that doesn't seem right.

There have been some duff seat sensors. Also the system *can* get confused when starting the bike sometimes if you don't let the bike 'do its thing' for 3 seconds before accelerating off. A switch-off, count to ten, and re-start sorts that. I've been impatient a few times, so guess how I know...

My seat sensor is one of Jimc's duff ones. It says my butt is NEVER on the seat for more than a few minutes  . The only kind of sucky bit is that I have to unlock the suspension by revving up the engine over 2500 RPM's and to lock it I have to turn the bike on and then apparently you have about 10 seconds to lock the suspension right after you turnn it on. Our tech in Chattanooga has been on vacation for a couple of weeks and I am out of town for the rest of the week, so I have to call him after he gets back to replace it.

I don't know if time has changed this - but it used to be a whole new seat, not just the sensor. Still, if under warranty, no problem!

4025 miles and only 8 months into a three year warranty - I think I'm good.
