I have not sold it, so I haven't taken a beating... ![]() I've been getting on it more lately & quite enjoy it... It is best for riding around town, it is fun to thrash it a bit, something I'd be afraid to do on my 750. I think that's where it shines... all the stop & go is where the vespa is best, it's very nimble, accelerates fast & reliably & has nice brakes. I can ride a little crazier, but feel a little safer, in town. Good luck with whatever you decide and enjoy your summer! Desi B. |

I am really surprised you can get parts for a 1978 CB750. I had an 1982 Yamaha Virago 920 and at only 10-12 years old I couldn't get a carb float bowl gasket for it. I fiddled with it some and it's been sitting in my basement for 12 years now.
So good luck getting parts. Wayne B |

Most of my riding is on relatively crappy condition coastal roads. Very little traffic. The vespa doesn't do bumps well. It's not fast enough for long fast rides. It's awesome safe fun, for sure... But I'm just not on it much. |

I worry about the belt breaking...
Twice now, I've convinced myself I've had a rear flat. I didn't , of course. Riding the bigger bike has really improved my confidence on the vespa... To get the quick launches in traffic would require me to drive quite agressively with the 750 ... First gear is always a bit of feathering. On the vespa, it's a no brainer... And I always get off the line first because of the automatic. I'm leaning a lot more too... Fun! |

thx 175mws...
As I've said, I'm keeping the 300 for a while & am going to enjoy it. I'm going to see if I can edit the thread title , to remove the "buyer's remorse" It seems to be getting some people a little cranky! Cheers -Peter- |

I think what people are missing here is context.
A few years back I worked a few months in St-John's. Beautiful city with very nice people but by any standards it's a very very small city. And I think this is why peter is enjoying his motorcycle more. Scooters are the ultimate way to go in the city; even stopping at red lights is fun; no parking ,no problem park on the sidewalks or in-between cars . If you are doing 80% highway and 20% city, a BV500 or a motorcycle IMHO is more appropriate and more fun than a 300 GTS . ⚠️ Last edited by lilscoot on UTC; edited 1 time
