Today I finished the paper work on my first Vespa! I got a good deal on a new white 300s at clearwater vespa. I was originally looking at getting a GTS250 but I really liked the white color and their was only a $200 price difference out the door.

At least this way ill have no regrets and plenty of room to grow in the hobby. This is my first scooter so I am pretty nervous and excited at the same time. Next week ill be taking the required safety courses to get my endorsement. I know its quite the scooter for my first go around but I am going to stick to intown riding until I get more comfortable with the true power of this scooter.

Pics coming tomorrow when it gets delivered.

Congratulations on your purchase. You certainly are starting out with the best new scooter out there IMO. I have one on order too but it hasn't arrived in Canada yet.

As promised here are some photos! The guy from clearwater vespa rode it down to my house so it went from 1 mile on the odometer to 26. lol Glad to know it runs like a champ though.

The UV Index today was 10+ so I wasn't able to ride it more than around the block once today. It was like radioactive outside.

I also grabbed two helmets today, on ff and one for around town. a Joe Rocket mesh and some gloves. Time to find some boots then I can take my MSF course and get set up.

Tons of fun, I love it.

Congrats, but did you say that it's your first scooter Have you ever ridden a moped/scooter/motorcycle before? It's a big way to start, that's for sure!
Good luck, ride safe and all-the-gear-all-the-time, eh?

Yeah it is my first scooter. But the way I see it a scooter is just as safe as the speed you are going. If I don't go over 40mph then its no different than a 50cc. Plus the 300c is big for a scooter but no bigger than a novice motorcycle. Least this way ill have plenty of room to grow when I am ready to speed up. Florida law also requires a MSF to get your endorsement so I am looking into that now.

BeerNuts,
Did you ask the dealer to remove the flashers below the handles?

The 300 Super doesn't have the turn signals under the headset.

I see, I thought it was a north american rule but I guess it only applies to small frames.
Benito is your red 300 a special order or will the red GTS be available in Canada?

Sorry if I sounded cranky there, but I'm sure that you will grow into the speed and power just fine. It's sort of like giving a kid a Corvette for their first car (yes I'm jealous!). A beautiful scoot! Get a giant chain and two locks (one with an alarm) if you are going to keep it on your lanai!

You will of course be very careful the first few hundred miles anyway My father-in-law teaches basic and advanced riders courses up in Mount Dora if you can't get in one ASAP in St. Pete... and they have loaner scoots that are already "beat-up" for your confidence level! Good luck!
