Fun on Wheels callede today that they over looked the Windscreen and installed it. The mud Guard is out of Stock at Piaggio and they will install it at my house when it EVER gets to the dealer.

I excepted delivery today of my BRAND NEW VESPA GTS 300IE. Yes you heard right. Finally. I only took it down the block, but had no problem riding it.

The real BIG problem. I tried to lock it up were I lock my Ruckus to a tree, but never have a problem because the Ruckus is a small 50CC. It's not on a hill, but next to one going to the back yard. I can not what so ever put the kickstand up. In the flat front yard I have easy time with the kickstand. I'm going to have to put the Scooter in the front yard tied to a tree were it is more noticeable. I don't want to, but have no choice with the kick stand. I'm only a 5-7 122LBS 24 year old male.

Are you putting all your weight on the foot-pad of the center stand, while lifting up and back with your hand on some part of the scoot you can grip (I use the rear rack). I think you should be able to pull it off with the proper leverage!

And congrats! That is fantastic news.

I will try pulling it up while I press down on the kickstand, but I think I just need a few extra pounds for a 300+ size scooter. Also this was with steel toe boots.

Congrats on the delivery About time you got it. I have found major differences in the "sweet spot" on my 2 piaggio scooters. The LT was hard to put on and the LX was as easy as cupcake. In fact the first time i gave the tug i usually did for the LT on the LX i almost kept going when it went on easy

You really have to step on the center stand. The bike is pretty well balanced. Make sure the fron wheel on the ground in which case you are actually only lifting quite a bit less. I've had smaller bikes that are harder to lift because they weren't as well balanced. Miguel

I'm so glad you finally got your 300! If you just keep riding and don't park it, you won't have to worry about the center stand. Laughing emoticon

Keep practicing with the center stand. It took me a while to get it on a hill as well. I am a petite women; a bit smaller than you. You should also find something hard to put under the stand in case the ground gets mushy. You wouldn't want it to fall over. Someone just posted about how their scoot sank into some hot asphalt and fell over Crying or Very sad emoticon Congrats.

If you are having issues with the stand, why not have a friend "spot" you by standing near, while you practice putting it up on the stand? After a few dozen practices, you'll get it.

It would be better than dropping a brand new scooter(--you could otherwise give to me : )

Henry,
If you happen to apply the brake say while on or near the hill, the scooter will not move and set up on the center stand.
Yes, I did that one day on the flat driveway. I was really puzzled as to why the scooter would not set up on the center stand as I had done hundreds of times before. Then I looked down at my left handle holding the brake.
Maybe the nuns were right. Bad left hand! Devil's paw!
That is a very good suggestion for someone to spot you until you get the hang of it.

Good luck,
Fin

Try an check this post...it goes over some advice on getting scoot up and down from center stand...if might help. If you're dealing with an incline...it might be difficult.

I will let you park it at my house.
Then you could either take my LX home every night or take the bus back.
And "NO" I do not know where all those extra miles are coming from everynight, Honest, I did not go for any Joyrides.....
Congrats.
For security purposes have you thought about sinking some anchor bolts into your driveway and maybe an alarm of some sort.
I don't know which part of MD you are in exactly but leaving something nice in your front yard................

Seen it and done it...how about "why won't it start"...kill switch on...

BTW...I'm a "lefty" (writing) and "righty" for everything else (right eye dominant)...so I guess that makes me half as bad??...better watch out if anyone picks up on this post you're going to start a endless string that will rival politics, helmets, etc. Maybe time for a politcally corrective retraction? Laughing emoticon

It's like some spots I can put the kickstand down. Others I can't. I'm doing nothing diffrent. Today I was trying to put the kick stand down and for the life of me it would not go down. Well the bike fell on a Brick flower bed. It dented and scraped 1" or so of the chrome metal next to the front right turn signal.

Read online that holding the left handlebar and the topcase or backrest while putting your foot on the kick stand works. I'll try tomorrow. Starting to think was the LX150 better for me. I think it's a combo of me maybe doing it wrong and my 122lbs body.

Went for a ride around the neighborhood with a guy that workls for my Monthers bussiness. He owns a 1300 Star crusier. I was able to keep up and was very happy about the fast exceleration. On my Rucks you keep saying it's going up up up. It's getting near the topspeed. On the GTS 300 your already their 2 sec.
