Got out to my scoot tonight after work and went to turn it on and...no headlight. My green dash light was still on and when I switched to high beam the blue dash light would go one but still...no headlight.

I put in the HID kit over the winter so it's only got about three months of scootin' on the bulb.

Sure made for a scary ride home. Luckily the little city bulb in the headlamp worked so other drivers saw a little light but boy it was hard to see.

Any ideas? Is there a fuse for the headlight? ( sorry, not with my manual)

ok so i have the HI/LOW kit from v-leds and although the HID did not stop working completely when i would go over a bump the light would go off ... so as i was still moving i would turn the bike off and back on and the bike would fire back up and the light would come on.... so i figure out that the little box that went to the 3 cords to the light, if moved to much shut the light off ... so i zipped tided the box to part of the frame to stop it from wiggling ... and now the light never goes off...

i also know that the on my LX150 it is so tight inside the head unit that the cable that makes the high low go up and down can get pinched and i have to open up the head and push the cord in and then hope it does not disconnect before i put it back together .... so maybe that is what happened to the power to the light...

hope that helps

Thanks for the reply, I checked the wires I had behind the knee panel but will wait till tomorrow to crack open the headset. I hope it's just a loose cable.

Yeah, could be a loose wire, use a voltmeter/multimeter to test for voltage along the circuit. There should also be a fuse on the positive wire from the battery to the relay, be sure to check that as well.

Went down to the garage this morning, turned the key, headlight lit up! So....I can't recall hitting any major bumps that would have jolted the ballast, but why didn't it work last night?

Were you so tired you got on the scoot backwards and didn't know it.?

I have a trailer like that.
Hook it up and it will not light up but 5 minutes later everything works.
Look for corrosion in the switch and/or the light bulb connection.
The other thing to try would be try to find all the ground connections and make sure they are clean...
