I went in to my local Vespa dealer in Paris today to buy a couple of LXV50's for my business and was told that the LXV50 was a limited edition and no longer being produced. They could not order more stock and only had floor stock!

They also said that they were expecting the LXV125 to be discontinued as well, although did not know the timing of this.

Dealer also told em they were no expecting a replacement in the line up anytime soon, that the LX and S models were the only ones at the lower cc end of the Vespa range.

Bummer for me as I thought it was a really nice style compared to the LX & S.

I love the LXV series. I quite like the S series too, and think the LX series could do with a bit more bling... If I had the cash I'll buy a GTV 250. And a PX200. And...

The LXV is so much more expensive than other Vespas with the same engines, perhaps they aren't selling enough of them to keep them in production?

That's what I'd have thought. Especially for the 50s (there's not so much price gap between an LXV 50 and a standard 125, IIRC).

On the other hand, they were supposed to be 60-year-anniversary "special" editions, though, weren't they? So maybe they did just have a limited number.

You may be able to get one from another dealer though. Perhaps someone in France has one or two on the showroom floor, still unsold?
