I am just in complete shock. I just received a phone call from someone I don't know telling me that one of our club members was killed in a motorcycle accident last night! I am really in shock, I feel so bad for his wife I cannot imagine how she must feel at the moment.

This is so sobering, please ride safely everyone, keep your eye open and stay aware of your surroundings, it could have been any one of us. This man was an experienced rider with many many years of experience.

OMG, I'm so sorry to hear about this, it is terrible news... my deepest sympathies and condolences.

bad news. we had three motorcycles fatalities in my county in the last three weeks, goes with the warm weather I guess. Be careful

Sad news, my condolences to all who knew him.

I just received an email from one of his co-workers that Chris was entering an intersection, witnesses confirm that he was NOT speeding, and a van turned left into his path without sufficient time for Chris to react.

If you don't mind, I know you didn't know him, but I wanted to pay him respect and post a couple of photos of him doing what he loved, riding his scooter. Chris was such a generous and kind person, he truly will be missed by everyone that his life touched. Seeing these photos brought back great memories of him and have brought tears to my eyes. May he rest in peace.

I feel terrible when I hear of someone's death. The numer #1 thing that I hate is talking about death. Dude looks like he is having fun rockin' that Zuma! Can we talk about something fun? What a downer .....

Benny i'm so sorry to hear the news. Please give my thoughts and prayers to everyone who knew him. It is a wake up call to all. Doesn't make any difference what you wear or how experienced you are you can still get killed. Be careful out there. If there is anything you need holler my friend.

This is perhaps the most common crash between a cage and a motorcycle, according to David Hough. Intersections are the most dangerous part of riding, and any car can make a straight section into an in intersection if they want to turn into a driveway, etc. Let this tragedy be yet another wake-up call that excellent riding technique and years of experience don't matter if you become the target of an inattentive driver. Trust no one. Be safe.

Thought are with Chris's Family and Friends...kinda have a feeling he's a decent guy...just by the pics Benny posted...somehow you can pick up on these thngs...

I hope that his Family has someone or a support group to provide the help them during this trying time.

Have you heard if the person who hit him was issued a citation? I'd be interesting in hearing about what happens (fine/imprisonment) to them as well.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your close friend....they say good always comes out of bad....the only good here is that it will make us all aware how careful we all must be...not just at intersections but ALWAYS.....again, sorry to hear about the loss and my thoughts are with you and his family!

The exact same thing happened to me last year. Obviously I was lucky and survived. Grace of God and all...
