I'm think of flying into LA and being a total tourist, tour hollywood cemeteries, see some old homes of the stars, hang out, party etc. Good idea or should I do something else?

Agreed! There are tons of places to visit and the sun shine is calling your name!
I often forget to visit my favorite places on the weekends and be greatful that I live in the middle of so many wonderful things. PS rent a scoot while you're out here and make it even more fun! |

I would do route 1 between LA and San Fran. Beautiful coastal drive. Great 2 wheeled trip IMOH. I've been out to cali but have never really done the LA/HollyWood thing sounds like fun. I hear the redwoods are cool up north also. Go for it and have fun. I don't know if they still show films in the HollyWood cemetery but that sounds cool also. I like cemeteries Go for it

I've rented from their San Francisco location but not in LA. It's a touch pricey so if you can find a local shop to do it you might want to go with them. [/url] |

We had to pay for the ENTIRE day Sunday as if we had it until 4pm. That and we requested a 250cc for the manfriend (not a petite frame at all) and when we got there they told him they thought he was a woman so they reserved him a 150cc. THE NAME ON THE RESERVATION WAS MICHAEL!!! |

Vespa or cage, take Sunset Blvd down to the Beach. Make a right onto PCH and travel for about 25 miles up thru Malibu. If this is your first time in California, you'll never forget it. It'll knock your socks off, guaranteed.

I dont wanna go to any theme parks or walk of fame but what about other stuff to do during the day and some good bars or clubs in the evening..anywhere the singles go ? If possible, avoid L.A., it's dirty. At all costs, avoid Hollywood, it's shitty and disappointing.

I am always amused by these simplified categorizations of LA.
LA is an amazing place and mostly for things completely unrelated to Hollywood. There was a post several months ago (March) outlining a gazillion cool things to do in LA and even a few in Hollywood. I like San Diego, however would never discourage you from going there simply because rush hour traffic on I-5 blows. |

Funny that this is posted. My wife wants us to do a CA trip bicycling in the Napa valley wine area with my in-laws next summer. I wanted to check in with some of you if you know of any decent tours like that!
I'll also be in San Diego for a conference 8/2 - 5 and could use a few suggestions on where to hand out. I'm staying across from the baseball field. |

Ate lots of great food and didn't visit a single Hollywood shrine. Although, we did see the "Bus Stop Man" from Ghost World If you're a Bukowski fan, like me you can take a short drive to San Pedro and pay him a visit. We also drove out to Joshua Tree national park which was incredible. While there Gram Parsons/Flying burrito brothers fans can check out the fan created shrine near where his kidnapped body was cremated. The Griffith Observatory was pretty cool too. Or you can do the usual stuff. PS In and Out Burger. ANIMAL STYLE! |
