Modern Vespa

I like check out the killboy blog showing pictures taken on the "tail of the dragon". You see the occasional scooter.

I grabbed this one from today. My favorite part, his turn indicators on the legshield.

YES! This is exactly what I want to build..except the "robo arm" exhaust..I would rather have it come out the otherside..(The new 226 pipe will do just fine ) and the wanna be air scoop down below..The cut down of the legshield is done right too..It's sick!

just need to matt black the fucker....

The silver with Italian stripes are a nice touch..BUT...ABSOLUTELY...MATT BLACK THE FUCKER! FUCK IT! ...It's a BEAST...and I want mine!

I like the Silver with the Stripes, looks much better then flat black.

Good question Mark. How is that legshield rolled? Black rubber trim would look good on there.

Isn't there a metal forming tool that will roll an edge on like that?

Rolling that top edge where it curves would be a tricky job - I'm guessing involving some snipping of the edge first to avoid creasing. Looks nice like that though

You can buy an edge roller from SIP. Me mates got one and its a complete bastard to do so I opted for the '80s alternative ..................................................... lammy leggy trim

Conversely, rock a flag like Ireland or UK over here, and it's cool. Don't ask me who made the rules.

A legitimate question, since Stella released a limited version of the bike that's british racing green, with the UK flag logos on it and a "GB" sticker on the front legshield.

Why'd they do a UK one and not some other country? Because, despite the vespa being an Italian creation, it's the British 60's youth subculture being most readily associated with vintage scooters. ( with no small part owed to Quadrophenia, i'd wager )

Add into the fact it's an Indian made version of an Italian product sporting British flags on it, only to be sold in the USA. It's like a geography lesson wrapped up in green paint and stinky exhaust.

While i sympathize about the growing pains the UK is going through ( and most of the other european 'old states'... france, germany, netherlands, etc. ) vis-a-vis your respective Islamic immigrants, let's keep the thread apolitical.

While true that sporting the U.S. stripes would not be considered cool (especially where I live) ..if anyone was wrapped in that much flag from any country it would look stupid.

Did you see that photoshoot of all the hot girls from a few years ago's world cup... and each one had the team's uniform from the country they were from painted on them while they were naked.
