Actually, not a dummiy, just new to scooters. Is there a simple guide to explain how they work, etc.? Like what's a variator, roller, etc.? Thanks for advice.

I've just resorted to researching what I can on MV and other sites...

Would be great to have a Scooters for Dummies published...following similar format...background / history info...comparatives between scooters and MC's...etc.

Lot of information out there...would be nice to have in clear, concise, comprehensive publication.

You may want to see if you can borrow a book on the history of Vespa...it was at the public library...the only one dedicated to Vespa.

3 minutes behind you two geniuses! 8)

Yep-- Bryce-o-Rama's tome is what you're after, along with perusing MV's Wiki and making friends with the search function--!

Title describes the book poorly and only provides the most rudimentary information easily gleaned from some simple searching here or on google. Definitely not worth $$

The original title "For the Complete Idiot" was a very detailed technical work on air cooled VW. Many have mislead those of us who equate it's level of writing with the descriptor "Complete Idiot" on another title

My copy is available in perfect condition shipped with donation to Scooter Relief $15 USD

Also check the WIKI.

https://modernvespa.com/forum/forum15

There is a lot of mostly newbie friendly technical stuff in there about belts and rollers and the like.
