Re: LED H4 Bulbs
That is too bad. LED is clearly a technology whose time is here!!
There are some good LED headlight things happening, but it is in bicycle lighting! In Germany, where they make ze goot lights, both Busch & Muller and Schmidt are making nice bicycle oriented LED lights, and their most recent ones are really good. I think that LEDs of that quality, arranged in a good reflector, with a nice heat sink would be a good scooter headlight. I would love to give it a shot, but the lights are expensive (they are very high quality), and I am about as likely to make a functional LED headlight as I am to iron out the kinks in Pond & Fleischman's Cold Fusion Theory. Let us hope someone of skill and perseverance takes on the job. Nitro wrote: I ordered some. Actually the Audi R8 has it as an option to the HID headlight. If I heard about it correctly.
The thing is using it on a regular housing kinda defeat the purpose. The whole idea about using LED is a smaller/thinner headlight housing, using (much) smaller reflector/projector on each bulb, and also because it's such a cooler light source... way less heat generated, no need for cooling space/area. I have HID on my bike, running 35W instead of 55W, but with more illumination. It's great! |
