Have any of you had installed the below?

1. The Prima (Faco) side crash bar is not as robust as the Piaggio original and is a single bar. Would this hold up as well as #2? $119.00

2. The Prima (Faco)..almost generic crash bar...wondering if the additinoal frame around reflector adds any support. $149.99

BTW...I did remove my reflectors and have installed cover caps.

3. The Prima (Faco) front rack...does this really work well? I would use it to support a 20 lb. bag of cat food and possibly tie down a small crate box to transport stuff...just wondering if the drop down shelf is really that functional and can handle the weight. Is it worth it and does it affect your ride (seems like the added weight forward may not be a good idea)? I got ROK straps and I could secure same on seat behind me. $119.00

Would appreciate your comments.

Heard of some major fitment issues with the FACo. I went with the Piaggio ones and am very satisfied.

I have the Faco front rack, and it's great. I like that I can remove it easily if I feel the need to. I probably wouldn't put much more than 20 pounds on it, mostly because it might start to affect the handling at that point. But I've put at least 10 pounds on there easy, and didn't even notice it. You just have to make sure you've tied things down extremely well, as there's much more of a chance you'd go down should something fall off the front rack (as opposed to something falling off the rear rack). Get a pack of misc. bungees in different sizes, and maybe a bungee net, and you're all set. It's also an extremely handy place to tie a club banner to, without covering your glovebox with bungees. 8) The rack is very sturdy once mounted correctly, and I can actually lift the front end of the bike with it.

Can't speak for the crash bars, as I have the Vespa-branded ones. I've heard mixed reviews about the Prima and Faco. And for what it's worth, I had plenty of "fitment issues" with the Vespa ones. But they damn sure aren't coming off easily, so I'm pretty confidant they'd give some decent protection should I fall. I feel sorry for any poor service tech who's got to take them off...

I have the FaCo rear crash bars for my LX and I have no qualms whatsoever about recommending them to others. That said, I see you are rockin' a larger bike, so I'll leave it at that.

I have the FACO single bars on my 300. Looks good.

When mounting be sure there is enough clearance between the right front connection for the right bar and the radiator hose. After it's mounted you should see what your clearance is like when you are on the bike alone and with a passenger. Bounce up and down a few times and see if the hose is rubbing on the bar. If it is, the bar may need to be bent slightly to allow a little more clearance.

Other than that, all is well and I like the look and the single bars are stable enough so that they should do what they're supposed to if the bike tips over.

I have the faco rear (side) crash bars... They fit great and went on pretty easy. The instructions are poorly written/drawn (and in Italian), but if you're at all intuitive, you can figure it out.

I've never dropped a bike or layed it down... I imagine they'd protect the cowls pretty well... I think they look cool and bought them more for the aesthetics.

The $500 one-piece crash bar kit looks pretty gawdy when you see it close up.

By the way- My wife bought them for me from Scooterworks... AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Thanks! This has been mentioned to me by a local Vespa owner who mounted a single crash bar (Cuppini I believe)...same issue...not certain if this occurs with all crash bars (right side)...but maybe worthwhile putting out the word vs. an install and having a coolant leak problem while riding!

Are Prima and Faco the same brand? To me it looks like the Prima have one bar and the Faco are traditional.

Scooterworks description indicates Prima while PDF Installation Instructions has Faco on title page...I'll address with Scooterworks and get to bottom of this...sorry for the confusion.

Utilimately I will be ordering a cowl / side crashbar. Still debating on front rack...probably not...seems that could hamper control...will just use back of my seat and ROK straps.
