They said it probably had to be installed by extending the wires or something?
The Stebel Nautilus Compact's horn and compressor can be separated and connected by a flexible tube. If I were starting over, I'd do it that way because space is so darn tight inside the fairing (don't forget the suspension travel). Also the installer must wire a separate circuit and relay; the OEM horn wiring isn't set up to power a compressor.

Hadn't realized that and good to know. I just got my horn in the mail and hope to start install - along with numerous other mods - next time I find a couple of free days... or maybe just another all-nighter. I'll take a look at the horn tonight and see what is involved in breaking it (!!) apart, and even if I really need to. Thanks for the info!

First you need to mount an air compressor in place of a top case.

The compressor would have to be about the same size as my mp3 or pull a trailer with it mounted on it and a long electrical cord to power it

Reminds me of an accident on a fire truck in Germantown, TN. The driver used the horn too much and didn't have enough air left for his brakes and couldn't make a turn. The town modified their other trucks to split the air system between horn and brakes.
