Yes! Please e-mail back to them and states that SH LIM of West Malaysia is bitching about their Dealer here of not having the correct special tools for the job. Would be great if they can get the attentions of Piaggio of Italy too!

I also received that same letter today. I found it amusing, only because I received one from Dodge about 2 weeks ago, and another one under the Jeep name about a week before that.
I think all of the automotive manufacturers worldwide are doing a little bit of smoozing with their customers to try and stay in their good graces. Piaggio is A-OK with me. Dodge and Jeep, however... |

Just curious. Which "TWO" of your MP3's wheels are the ones that replace 4 wheels?
Nice to get a personal letter. |

Got the same letter. I had to read it a couple of times to see what they wanted - nothing. If they appreciate my business so much - extend my warranty - not!

My Letter - Free 2 year extended warranty (letter)
After several issues with both our MP3's, my wife and I sent an email and registered letter to Piaggio. We received the email below last year. Just a few weeks ago, we received our two year factory extended warranties for our MP3 250's.
Goes without saying that writing the company sometimes pays off with a little added persistance. ![]() |

We are about to put together a letter in order to respond to the notice from Piaggio. Yes we have thoroughly enjoyed the ride and fun both of our bikes provide, yes we have an awesome dealer that we work with and visit on a regular basis, but I have to say that waiting for parts to be delivered and currently dealing with a warranty issue (which is now going into it's 5th week) is just SAD!!!

I also received this letter yesterday. Too bad it didn't come with the topcase I've been waiting for these past 15 months.

change of wording would get me in the showroom
Im shallow ....now if they had given ME a $100.00 donation for bringing my family into the showroom they might have a deal maker:)
in the meantime I'm going to crank up the AC with the money I'm "saving" on a 9k scooter. |

It's always good to hear "thank you" from a manufacturer but the assumption in the letter that I bought my 500 due to global warming really burns my biscuit. I believe g.w to be a farce and bought it b/c my Ford F350 dually diesel was pushing $140/fillup last summer. My figures show I've saved $2,229.67 in fuel costs since the purchase.

You may not actually "save any money" by buying a scooter once you've totaled up all the expenses, the hospital bills, the repair bills and the misc charges. Plus you still have the car. You buy the scooter because you love it, that's all!

That's funny! But I really thought the letter was gonna open with "You're cordially invited by Piaggio Groups Americas to attend a three-week, all-expenses-paid workshop at the Piaggio factory in Italy where in addition to learning how to service your MP3, you will be wined and dined at the finest spots across Italy..."

Got two letters last Friday, unfortunately we've already sold both our MP3's. I will say that the MP3 reignited my interest in scooters, and I'm really enjoying my Burgman Exec, now. My wife, once again, enjoys riding behind me--Hurray!

Whether you believe in global warming or not (and I can't believe there are still skeptics), you are doing something to combat the problem by using a form of transport that produces less carbon emissions and takes up a smaller road footprint. I don't see a problem with Piaggio pointing that out. |
