Hey all, I have had a tough go trying to get my exhaust back on the scoot.

Attempt 1, rocking loud.
Attempt 2, rocking loud.
Went to the search on MV, found this: https://modernvespa.com/forum/topic33314 --- learned that patience is good.
Attempt 3, rocking loud.
Attempt 4, ---- much closer, little loud, but not rocking loud Patience is paying.
Attempt 5 the next day with fresh arms -- remove the muffler, go to put it back on and a new, unidentified part just falls off. I do not know if it came from the muffler, the hanger on the side, or up by the manifold --- it just fell off.

I have fuzzy pics below, if you can identify the piece please let me know where it is supposed to go. It does have some of the anti-seize on it which makes me think that the bolts on the muffler hanger goes through it, but I am not sure which bolt and which direction the tabs are supposed to go (in towards the motor, or out towards the muffler).

I am holding off the project till I figure where it goes, so please let me know if you have any ideas.

Peace and pavement .

On my ET4 there were 3 of them. The tabs went towards the motor. The exhaust bolts go through them like you thought. One of my Ets was missing them with no ill effect.Your loud noise is because the exhaust pipe is not seated properly in the cylinder.Make sure it is seated all the way in before you tightner up.

They fit between the engine and silencer, with the tags facing towards the engine... its there to stop the silencers steel tube wearing into the alloy of the casing...
