Modern Vespa

Hello, I am a long time lurker and figured that since I just got my second Vespa and my fourth scooter - I might as well make myself known. I have a pair of silver Vespas, one LX50 and one GTS 250 that I just bought. Judging from the prices and comments that I read here, I think I got a great deal on it, since I paid $3300 for a 2007 with screen and mat installed (not a single scratch anywhere!). I hope that I can add something to this board someday, since I have gained so much info from all of you already. Well, thanks and I guess I will go sit down now!

It does sound like a great deal on the GTS. Was it leftover stock at a dealer or did you buy it used?

I bought the LX50 new as left over stock from the dealer and paid $2100. I bought the GTS from a gentleman in VA that had it listed on CL for a while. We talked on the phone as I was standing in the airport leaving the country for 3 weeks. He said that he would hold it, but I was not expecting it to be there when I got back. It was the right color, size, condition and price. When I got home and called, it was still sitting in his garage. He said that someone had done that for him on one of his BMW bikes, so he thought he would return the favor. I am now the proud owner of this little jewel and am having a blast on it. What a difference from my LX50!
