Modern Vespa

Anybody know anything about this patch?

I asked my clubmates and none of them got one o' these, so I thought someone here might have a clue as to where it came from, what it means, or really, if it wasn't supposed to be in my bag at all:

I got one from Amerivespa in Chattanooga. It's from the company selling all the patches, a sample I presume.

Oh, ok. So I just got lucky? I just didn't want to think about anybody missing some hard-won badge, is all.

So, do you know anything else about it? A few quick Google searches came up empty. Maybe the name of the company you mentioned?

I don't remember.... I'm sure someone else can, or at least someone on your coast who was one of the organizers will know.

Don't know if it came from them, but they sell it and I got one from them as a 'freebie' when I ordered some soccer team patches from them a while back.

How well do iron ons hold up on textile jackets (like say oh I don't know a Carazzo 5.0)? I have a few patchings from AV that I would love to put on but I am a hack at sewing and my GF is no better; but I also am a danger with an iron.

To tell you the truth, I reinforce the iron-ons with with thread. The nice thing about iron-on patches is that you can set them in place before the sewing. They go on nicer that way. However, I do have one iron-on that I didn't add some stitches and I am getting pretty close to running my jacket through the wash. If I can remember I will let you know how it holds up on my, yes, textile Frank Thomas.

Same here. I don't trust the iron-ons by themselves. It's also hard to tell if a patch is really an iron-on or not. Some have a heat-seal backing that looks just like the iron-on material, but isn't.

I'd be afraid of melting my synthetic jacket with a hot iron.
I got one of those in my Amerivespa bag, too. I'm pinning it on my garage bulletin board along with all my other dorky patches.

Worked ok for me so far. I also place a t-shirt or something between the iron and the patch, so that I don't toast the threading. That no doubt protected the jacket as well.

I have been collecting patches, too. Most of them are non-scooter patches (those go on the jacket, naturally); I collect them like some people collect snow globes from each city they visit. I have been thinking about getting a cork board or something to pin them to, so that I am not poking holes in my wall.
