Anyhoo, it's for sure legal in Toronto, Canada. As xantufrog has pointed out re. Boston, I don't know how they make the distinction between a "motorcyle" versus a "limited speed motorcycle" that cannot exceed 70km/h and fits small displacement Scooters and all Mopeds, however. Do they eyeball it, look whether or not its a step-through design, or look at the type of plate? My Super 150, while still smaller than some new 50cc scooters, is technically licensed and plated as a motorcycle because of its displacement.
I'm sure in court one could argue to spirit of the law if getting a ticket (showing its smaller dimensions) even if it is technically not licensed as a LSM.
