I just had a minor accident. some blood on my knee but it will heal. My concern is healing my Vespa. the left side under the seat has a dent now and is all scratched. Does anyone know of some sort of touch up repair kit for Vespas? or will I need to bring to a body shop? In advance thanks for your help

Remy, sorry to hear about your accident, the most important thing is that you're not badly injured. The dent and scratches can be fixed professionally. On the other hand, some people treat them as badges of honour that you have ridden and them them untouched. On the other hand you could hammer the dents out from inside and touch up with touch up paint or even cover the scratches with a sticker. For me I'm picky and prefer the professional job.

You would have to show us a picture so we could see the damage before telling you how bad it is.

Again, dependent on the extent of damage...if's it's a dent your could try and check out those who can actually remove a dent without painting...however if there are scratches and want them fixed a body shop would be appropriate...check out for and structural damage.

I feel your pain - I've had dropped min 4 times in 1 week and am wondering whether I'm better off just making a claim via the insurance as I want a professional job done but don't want to dent my bank account.

if you're a new rider, i wouldn't touch the dents and scratches until you've got some more miles under your belt and are confident you won't drop it again. remember that if you claim on your insurance your bank account will take a hit in the form of higher premiums - i wouldn't recommend going down that road.

Absolute badges of honour!

Glad you're not badly hurt. It breaks your heart the first time you scratch your beloved - I know...

I literally dropped my 250 before it was a week old. I was moving her up a 4 inch curb onto my porch when the weight surprised me by going over in the opposite direction. She slipped from my hands and got dented and scratched on the underside by the edge of the curb. The damage is minor, but the sadness at the time was immense. Crying or Very sad emoticon Since it is not very visible, I actually sometimes forget it happened. I plan to fix it ... maybe.

Thanks for the advice peeps - I like the idea of the scratches being badges of honor - I wasn't hurt was just embarassed on all occations! I still love the bike and have noticed that after each fall I ride with just that edge of more confidence. Will probably just pay for the bike to have "laser" surgury in at the end of next month or a least after I've done my first 1000km as it needs to go back into the dealer for a check up anyway.

I don't think I'd fix anything til this recurrant problem stabilizes.
