After teasing America with mostly unobtainable European tidbits, the Adidas Originals/Vespa clothing and shoe line is hitting the U.S. in full force with five launch parties at U.S. Adidas Original stores over the next week:
Berkeley, CA July 23 6-8 PM
Chicago, IL July 23 6-8 PM
Georgetown, DC July 23 6-8 PM
Miami, FL July 23 6-8 PM
Portland, OR July 24 6-8 PM

These "Private Shopping Events" include a 20% discount and a gift with an $80+ purchase (I'm told anything that's sold out or unavailable in-store can be ordered online at the event with the discount). Visitors can enter to win a customized Adidas Originals Vespa S-50.

Adidas was out at our rally on the weekend. They were giving out Adidas gear to lots of people! Some of it was pretty sweet including Adidas Vespa bags.

I keep look for this stuff and never seeing it. I looked at Discover Mills Mall store this weekend in NE Atlanta.

the Adidas store at Northpark Mall in Dallas has a ton of Vespa swag, too...and they're giving one away, too! kinda cool stuff, actually...they have a blue track jacket i may pick up later.

I'm not a huge fan of visibly branded merchandise, & goddess knows I've got way too many scooter t-shirts, but the black/charcoal target T is cool, and the branding's nicely understated.

Picked-up a pair last night (and 6 pairs of black socks). VERY cool.

Went to the Georgetown store last night. Kinda disappointing: the free gift was a silly "I heart Adidas" sticker.

We were given an Adidas Notebook. Kindda cute but usable in the scoot.

It's cool to forward news you heard elsewhere, that's what the scene thrives on. But it's generally considered good form to acknowledge where you're cutting and pasting from.

The store was a let-down. If you're into spending $130 on a track jacket because there's a Vespa logo on it, go to it. Some of the shoes look nice, but the "Vespa" markup isn't worth it.

I tend to agree... I definitely felt the same way about the Ferrari-branded Puma gear that was out a couple years back.

Poorly-made, non-supportive, and otherwise crappy shoes + Cavallino Rampante (prancing horse) = upcharge? I'll pass...

I got a pair of those last week as well.

They went on sale, reduced from £64.99 to £39.99, certainly a more realistic price!

I don't think the adidas badge on the tongue is white on the UK version (I'm too lazy to go upstairs and check!), sure it is also black.

I really liked the Adidas/Vespa T-shirts that were at the Twisted Wheel Scooter rally in Toronto. I bought one as a gift for a friend but unfortunately, they didn't have my size. The T's were well made and very nice looking I thought.
