Hi all,

Just bought a Vespa (Vespa brand) Alarm,

its naff! got it set to the lightest setting and, it takes one hell of a nock to set it off!
You can take it off its stand and still does not go off, you have to bash it!!!!!

Has anyone else had one of them, and how sensative is it!

the shop is going to get me another one, but i would like to know if this will be any better.... thanks!

How does it mount to the scooter? It has to be secure so it can feel the vibrations.

It is fitted under the horn and is rock solid! i am hoping its a faulty unit, as i want it to go off if anyone sits on it etc!
Would be good if anyone out there has one that can give me some feed back!

thanks.

I have a Piaggio alarm, too.

It does take quite a bit of fiddling with to get the settings correct. Maybe try to re-install it, re-doing the connections and such. Test things before you finally seal things back up. I had to mess around with mine for nearly a half hour before I got it the way I wanted. I suppose it's possible that one made for the LX/S line isn't quite as sensitive, but I wouldn't think so.

I agree that it isn't quite as sensitive as some of us would like. Mine won't go off if I casually sit on the bike. But it should definately start screaming if you take it off the center stand, unless you are rediculously careful about it. Mine will now scream if you slap the bike hard enough to make it move, or loud enough close to the legshield. So far it's only gone off once out in the open, and that was when a Harley decided they would look cooler if they revved, while still parked, directly next to my parked GTV. I didn't expect it to be sensitive to sound, but some of those larger bikes can rattle your brain in your head when they rev too loudly, so it makes sense.

I have a Gorilla Alarm and those things can be set to super-sensitive. Slamming a car door next to it will set it off at it's most sensitive setting, so I have to dial the thing down to almost the lowest level to stop it sounding constantly outside the office.

Mine too took a lot of piss farting around - mainly with the sensitivity setting knob - some days you fart in its general direction and it goes off, others, you need to give it a good nudge - its damn good at waking the neighbours - especially after they have been up all night on the turps

I'm surprised the Vespa alarm doesn't have a sensitivity adjustment screw. All the other alarms I've seen do, including the one I have fitted.
