If all you do is sit on your butt and never ride much in twisties like you can in norCal, I suppose that's true. But having ridden in norCal for over 25 years, my Corbin seats are my preference for corner carving.

Guess it depends on what get's your juices flowing.
In my body case (shot lower back) I built a back support that relieves my shortcomings and sit upright on my MP3s and can comfortably ride all day on my stock seats. When you find out what your body needs to be comfortable, getting that is all you need, no matter what it costs or looks like to others.
