Has anyone else experienced problems with the swing arm?

The needle bearings in the swing arm have collapsed at approx 13,000 miles which has resulted in a lot of play left to right and up and down of the engine and back wheel. The engine has actually dropped a few millimetres with the swing arm sitting on the bottom side of the silencer block! I have been told they are a common fault on the X9's. I have ordered a full swing arm kit because extracting the old worn needle bearings are pain and fitment of the swing arm is easier which I'm going to do myself.

If it's like my ATV you just need a nice $240 Snap-On 3 Jaw Slide Puller and a little heat from a torch

When fitting the new one, fill the tube with grease and push out a huge 'sausage' when inserting the long bolt. That will ensure there really is plenty of grease in there, and stops anything else getting in. Messy but effective!

Does anyone know the best way of taking the old swing arm out? Looks like i'm going to have to take of the side panels.
