They have tightened up the cable on my gas door every time my bike has gone into the shop because it doesn't open unless you sort of massage it back toward the front. It loosens up again in a few days. It is just an annoyance, no big deal to me.

It may be a nice thing to have the lid stick. If someone should get your keys and want to take it for a ride, they just might have to get gas. (thief thinks.."damn I can get the lid to open, I better get out of here)
To me it is more of a hassle to have the shop fumble around with it. Like everyone else its just a slight press to the front and it's open. |

It's almost feels like the screws holding it down could be a little loose. Will look at that when I pull the plastic off to run some wires. Wayne B

Wayne B So when you say you pushed the door forward, was that as in, you loosened a screw and pushed forward, or just put some umph into it? |

My MP3 250 is 18months young. Gas lid poped up twice in the early stages and not ever since. I just give the hinged a slight push (opposite the latch end) and it will just pop up without fail.

I had an issue with mine this weekend, but it was 111 degrees out so I am sure the plastic decided it didn't want to stay in one shape
I tapped it and it popped right up. -Darkavich |

It's easy to attach an emergency pull on the door, see the mods posted at <[topic47804#683738]>. I think Piaggio should include this as an emergency measure, especially since so many people have this issue (mine isn't stuck it just flat-out died).

Happens to me everytime. I just give the lid a push forward before I go to unlock it. Even then I sometimes have to put the key under it to pop it up.
