I know this is a touchy subject for some, but what is the best way (or is it even possible) for me to get my beloved 500 back upright after I lay it down on it's side.

+1 - but there's an extra step with an MP3. With the bike on its side, get the suspension 'equal' on both sides and then apply the tilt-lock. Then when it *is* upright it won't go flying off the other side, plus this helps minimise the effort required.

Jimc is correct, two times we have dropped our 500s, and both times it occurred to me AFTER I lifted it, that one wheel was WAY up and the other was WAY down, and locked in place, and it was pretty iffy about dropping the wheels back into position from a standing position. If you have to do it, the bike behaves itself however.

Alright...I must ask cuzz I'm not sure I understand "how to" get the suspension equal.....say one wheel is up and one not. What is it I do to make them even (the same/equal)? Is it while the scoot motor is still running (and on it's side)....I switch the stabilizer button to "on" (to drop the suspension?) and do I apply the hand brake or not? I wish we had an emoticon with blonde hair....I'd be using it now Step 1, step 2, step 3....etc.

Without saying to much here I have used this method and it works great. It really is the only way to get the rubber side down again!! R.B. |

This will make it much easier to lift. |
