Hi all,
I am a Vespa rider in Singapore, not many around here I noticed.

I just took delivery of my GTS 300 a week ago and frankly did not enjoy it as much as my previous GT 200.

I found the handling heavy and more difficult to do a u-turn around a small circle as compared to the GT200. The front suspension is also VERY stiff, I can hardly push it down when at stand still. Is this the reason leading to the handling issues? If so, could someone please advice me on how to adjust it.

I searched the forums but did not find any relevant posts. Thanks!

Stanley,

Contratulations!

Although I'm not able to provide you a fair side-by-side comparison between the handling of the GTS300 and the GT200 (this is what I ride).

If I may offer a suggestion...with anything new (regardless if there are inherent differences between the two)...sometimes it just getting
to that "comfort level".

Hence, although the GTS300 may have different handling characteristics it many be an issue of allowing enough time to adjust...just my thoughts...

That is odd. I have ridden the GTS 300 Super, I have a GTS 250 and a GT 200. If anything, I find the front suspension on my GT 200 to be a bit firmer than either of the two GTS's.

I generally find that the GT200 has much heavier handling than the GTS250 or GTS300, so I'm a bit perplexed as to why your seems opposite.

The suspension on the 300 *is* a bit stiff, though.

(and I really want to see where you mount your ERP transponder...)

Center of gravity on the 300 is definitely different than the 200 or 250. It's more centered and lower.

If you just got the bike you need a little more time on it and you'll be zipping around like you used to with no difficulty.

Erm.. Interesting you know about the transponder, more often referred to as IU unit for purpose of peak hour road surcharges. I received it fixed on the front grill but just moved it down beside front suspension held in place with the metal bracket. Sorry, don't have pics right now but I'll try to upload.
