I wish he would get a Vespa franchise, but he tells me they won't work with him even though he has a brand new building, but also sells used cars. His cars are not the normal junkers you see at fly by night auto sales either. Anyway I went to to vist him as he is a good friend and he just got these in.

125 cc. He said 450 were imported to the US for the first shipment and he was able to get 4 of them. From a distance I thought they were beefed up mopeds and I started looking for the pedals, but they are clutch/shift just like motorcycles.

What Dealer network are they working with (i.e. Sym Dealer, Honda, etc.) or independents?

In my opinion, the idea of a clutch on a smaller displacement engine is not a bad idea...gives a scooter experienced rider an opportunity to transition of a clutch and shift scooter without going to a larger bike. I can already see this as a niche market...the bike / support network just gotta be decent.

Zoom Scooters here in Queens NYC sells them too. Jimmy, the owner, modded one out for a clubmate and it's nasty. You can hear it from a block away and it flies off the line. I think he kitted it up to 177 or so.

When kitted up so heavy they are very fast and torquey. Lots of power and limited weight. I haven't ridden one myself, but I've ridden along side. Fun little machines.

I'd love to have a 125 Madass, but the 50cc would just not do it for me.

Wikipedia article on Madass...seems like both auto and clutch transmission avaiable...disc brakes...made in Germany....interesting offering...

It's a fun looking scooter / MC...imagine a 125cc with clutch (just for the heck of it)...pricing is not that bad...in fact it kinda carries the same feeling as a Rukus (you know what I mean?)...will have a 'tweener
cc displacment (that gapper from 50 to 200cc).

I've always wondered what if would have been like for Honda to offer a 125cc Honda Metro and Ruckus (they got rid of the 200cc Ruckus a few years ago)...again a nice 'tweener scoot.

I'm not sure of the dealer network, I'm gonna say - Independent, but not 100% sure. He does carry a few Chinese scooters, so I'll bet he worked something out with them. Since he just got them in there weren't any prices on them and I was sort of in a hurry so I didn't ask.

I started out on a Metropolitan. I modded it out to achieve about 50mph(indicated).

If they made a 125 I'd probably still be riding it. Those suckers are nimble as hell. very fun to ride.

I love everything about this bike but the name. Madass?? I hope that sounds better in German. Like the Kymco "Bet and Win". I think they need to do a bit more market research with these names.

Scooter manufacturers love crazy names. Don't know why... personally I don't see a problem naming a scooter, say, "TX2 MHAZ-57G".

The Madass is really cool. I'd love to own one of these and ride it into the elevator of my office building
