This is my wee bridge ,not as grand as the usa bridges but steeped in history This five-arched stone bridge was built in 1709 with stones most likely taken from the ruins of a nearby fort. It was originally an oak bridge built by Captain Shaw in 1655 to allow Oliver Cromwell's gunners to cross the River Lagan. Today it attracts young romantics, families and dog walkers content to soak up its peaceful atmosphere and enjoy a Mr Whippy ice cream
Fantastic!

Hanging 1,053 feet above Colorado's wild Arkansas River, the Royal Gorge Bridge is the world's highest suspension bridge and a legendary feat of engineering renowned the world over. Ah of course forgot about that one....it's a bit out of my way.

Oh and apparently it's not a priceless experience, it's a toll bridge.

Yep, that's the only one higher than the Millau Viaduct. Which is surprisingly completely un-scary to cross. Going there again in a couple of weeks.

It would be awesome if someone would ride over that bridge wearing an helmet cam!

(hint, hint)
You can take a car/truck ride over it. Good music too.

Hey that's cool (although for me, the music sux) Thanks for posting.

Crossing in a car and crossing on a scooter however, are two completely different things.

First saw that bridge on top gear. it looks amazing. Apparently it moves up and down for the weather, wind, season etc. I wonder if you could feel it rise and fall?

Seriously, it is even scary to walk across it. The thing sways on the breeze, and it offers a spectacular view of what Wile E. Coyote sees on most Road Runner cartoons, but for real.
