Modern Vespa

I was poking around on the Vespa USA website looking at topcases, because one of our members said the one for her scooter would have been $600. That seemed high, so I sought to ferret out the price advertised. No such luck, the new website doesn't list accessory prices.

So, while I was poking around, I discovered a new product that I wasn't aware of. It is a Vespa Topcase Liner. It looks like a bowling bag but would prove useful for those who carry a change of clothes and other things they need to move back and forth. Anyway, here is a pic.

I've seen the liner but don't have any experience with it. Regarding the $600 price tag for the topcase, this sounds about right for the GTV topcase with the matching leather backrest.

The GTV cases are the most expensive, because of the paint (for Avio Gray and Portofino Green, anyway) and because of the leather backrest that comes with them.

Either way, I still think $600 is a bit rediculous to pay for what it is (that's what my dealer quoted me). Pity it's the only one availible anywhere that's color-matched for the ivory. Cut the price in half, and I'd consider it more.

I've actually been considering the LX case liner to use as a front rack bag. It fits perfectly on a front Faco rack, and actually looks pretty decent there. Figuring out a good way to secure it would be the only issue, and I don't expect that would be too hard.

Beth had one of those liners for her LX. It's canvas and leather - nice quality. Some lucky MV member has it now.

I have one of those bags. I received it for christmas from my father-in-law. They are a stylish looking bag and I use it most days even though I no longer have a top case, I just use it as a bag. If you can get one at a good price they are excellent. Full retail is too expensive IMO.

That lucky member might be me! I like it. I'm kind of a bag lady. Scary but true. But if I ever end up homeless I'm set to go!! I can actually get my running gear...including shoes...in it. It fits nicely into my topcase so I'm not struggling trying to get the lid closed. And it is stylish to carry into work...rather than an old gym bag.

I sometimes carry my purse and lunch bag and other bits and pieces in it....one nice holder for every thing.
