I emailed this seller, and he claims he has 3 more P200s back home in Italy, that all have stock front disk brake set-ups. Is this correct? I know the U.S. versions wer all drums back then, but did the Euros get the good stuff way back then? And if so, why not the U.S. market?

No, they had drum brakes.

But putting a disc brake on an old P is easy.

Yes, I know conversions are plentiful, but this guy went on to tell me he is from Florence and that he and all his friends have many stock ps with disk brakes. I thought he was fulla hot air... probably later year models with disks on them.

Cool, now I know.

Are you going to buy a flock of P's and turn them into German styled street racers?

How about you? Did you get that P yet? We gotta get together for a ride and brainstorm on your P project. I'd love to lend a ahnd if you need an extra set when ya get into the heavy stuff.

No, have not. But I hear it is a good ride. Do you have a particular route you use?

Yeah, as I said, the guy is obviously off on the dating of his 200s, or he has a handful of customized scooters with D-Brake conversions.

Thanks for the input, I'll put this query in the "solved" file.

Yeah, it's not stock.

The lambretta TV's, SX's and GP's were the only vintage bikes that came stock with disc brakes on them. ( IIRC )

Vespas didn't start putting disc brakes on P-series until the late 90's, i thought. ( PX Millennium? )

The GFs Italian market 84 px is drum. So is Alex's (Motorsport's owner) which is an 80's UK market import.
