1975 VMA2T. I was considering running a new wiring harness to replace the crusty, constantly shorting out original one. How much disassembly is needed to do this? Would wiring lube, like what electricians use help get the harness through the tube?

Running a new wiring harness is a pain in the ass, but it's good

Remove your gas tank, headset, (all the cables) and front fork. You don't want to "force", "jam", or "stuff" the wiring harness through. I did this and now I have one of my wires grounded out somewhere and no headlight at the moment.

Anyways, I used electrical tape and taped the wires together then feed it down the neck from the top. Reach in through the cavity of the scoot and try to grab it and pull it through. I think patience is the key to this whole process. Give yourself a lot of time and don't expect to get this done in a few hours.
